Sources: Jon Morosi is en route to siberia today.

A representative of his agency, LIAR, would not comment when asked about Morosi’s travel plans.

At this hour, Morosi does not have a signed agreement with any
@MLB team.

Let the dude off the hook.

We've all made mistakes. JP has broken a lot of signings and trades as well.

Question.
I am not at all a big baseball fan

But why would he sign in the AL? When I watched they used DH…..

Would he be allowed to hit and pitch in the AL?

Morosi is a hack. Passan and Bowtie are the most credible insiders and they've been relatively quiet today outside of the former breaking non Shohei news.

If the end of the season was any indication, I'm totally ready to have my heart broken again lol. This just seems to good to be true.

lol f*** that, shouldnt post things like that without confirmation!

that being said, im doing it for the comedy..these things, while interesting, dont effect my life at all.

Lot of emotion in here. Guys we don’t make a cent from any of this wherever he goes. And even if he does sign we still will have bichette making brutal fielding errors. ;)
So obviously you just proved you are not a fan because you have no clue about his defense improved last season.

Along with how out to lunch and nonsensical the rest of this post is.

He's been playing in the AL since he came over from Japan 5 years ago

Bichette's defense has improved quite a bit but i think the big thing with him is he'll be reliable, but then just have a stretch where he makes some of the dumbest "what the f*** was that?" type plays you'll ever see.

Best analogy i can come up with as a sports fan is TJ Brodie; Generally reliable but will have some absolutely eye melting gaffes. You just have to hope those gaffes don't come in crunch time.

Public sports journalism for any official organization should require a license that can be revoked for misleading people. Only way you could solve this hack problem. Hopefully the idiots who lied and fed false information when they weren't even sure of it themselves are never taken seriously again.

Nah, there was always the possibility that this was just some rich guy. Morosi's report is what gave credibility to it.

The flight to/from Dunedin Sunday/Monday along with Ross' Dunedin Nashville seperate flight was spot on. You just need to clear the coincidence barrier. Any random private jet doesn't do that. Until Morosi goes out and smashes an egg on his face for no reason whatsoever.

If the same plane Ohtani took to Dunedin shows up with a flight plan to Toronto I'm 100% in this again. Need something to corroberate it other than just random private jet.

Matt Cauz said at like 330 on TSN1050 it was Robert Herjavec. He had it then.

I will give Shohei credit wherever he goes; He asked for privacy/secrecy and it's pretty fair to say he's absolutely gotten it.

I can't remember the last time i've heard so many people in the know (even guys like Rosenthal, Passan, Shi, BNS) go "i dunno" in regards to player movement/signings. Massive props to him and his inner circle.

Even the list of teams was just a bunch of guess work/assumptions based on who has been active in the market in prior years.

Worst walk back of all time. Saying the Jays are a part of the mix isn't important at all. It's all anyone has reported for the last week and a half. It's actually completely irrelevent. You know when hundred of people are tracking a random private jet that saying "He's on his way to Toronto" is the only part of you tweet that means anythng whatsoever and it's the part that was complete made up BS. Get the f*** out of here. How does this shit have a job anymore

Bandwagoner here, why would Ohtani choose the Blue Jays? What would Toronto have over L.A?
why would he choose the angels either? not every player wants to play in new york or L.A (not saying he doesnt btw) seems like a pretty private person, toronto imo is a good city if he wants to just focus on baseball.

Matt Cauz said at like 330 on TSN1050 it was Robert Herjavec. He had it then.
All one had to do was look at that planes flight history (like I did earlier) to know it was bogus. That plane has done the California to Toronto flight numerous times previously and as early as Oct 25, and has flown into Toronto many more times over the last few months

So, what was the logic behind believing that Ohtani would fly to Toronto today?

Medcals? Maybe. But if those aren't being done in OA and then just forwarded to them jays doctors, wouldn't be more likely to have them done in Dunedin?

See the city? Maybe. But he's been to Toronto several times over the last six years. If he is indeed friends with Kikuchi, then he may have discovered Toronto with him.

See Jays facilities? What facilities are there to see currently? With the renos, everything in and under the lower bowl is torn up. And according to Jeff Blair, part of the work being done is duplicating some of the things they in Dunedin which probably makes the Dunedin visit even more important?

Sign the deal? Aren't most FA deals announced as "pending medicals" which the take place and once those are approved, the player travels to the team's city for the actual contract signing and press conference.

i'm just not sure the whole concept of Ohtani flying to Toronto made much sense.

As someone completely outside of the loop, where would you have put Morosi on the scale of NHL insiders? As in, would this be like Friedman/LeBrun/CJ saying player X is signing, or more like David Pagnotta?

Probably Pagnotta but I think he's better than Morosi.
