The markets are moving extremely unfavourably to the Blue Jays in the Ohtani sweepstakes.

As a professional sports bettor and someone who watches the markets very closely the Blue Jays have been taking sharp action all week almost certainly by people with a serious edge (that being inside information) the same group who leaked the CFP final 4 2 hours before it was broadcasted just unloaded on the Blue Jays to aquire Ohtani and the market followed closely behind, from +160 down to +100 in a matter of minutes.

Not looking to be a harbinger of bad news but these guys rarely get it wrong and the most accurate thing to track in this race will be the updated odds not reporters or news or inside sources.

I'm surprised more Jet owners don't use the private option that blocks these tracking sites. It can be a useful tool if you wanted to try to figure out stuff like this. The stuff from his Dunedin visit was very apparent once found. That being said this could literally be anyone, and wouldn't he go to Dunedin again for his medicals first? I will keep an extra close eye on twitter tomorrow afternoon though, you never know when this stuff is accurate.

I've also been tracking the lines and seen them move towards the Jays today but couldn't figure what to attribute that to given a no-news day. That explains it.

He’s gonna sign the first dual contract in history. He’ll play 81 games for the Dodgers and 81 games for the Jays.

It starts to look pretty bleak if we compare anyone else to Ohtani. But maybe trade for Trout or Arenado?

I think Atkins said there's only financial room to sign one 5+ WAR player in free agency so both of Ohtani and Yamamoto together isn't happening.

re: the trade - I'd do that trade every day of the week but my guess is Tampa wouldn't even consider it.
