Knowing our luck, the players we should go for will be all gone, and we'll be stuck with another defenseman.

Absolutely agreed.

Though if BPA is a defenseman I take him.

I want Demidov so I need 6th at worst and I'm going to be pissed because Ottawa and Arizona are trash organizations that won't win again this season

Not sure if we would pick Demidov even if we had the chance.

Is he a good boy?

What animal would he be if he could choose?

Me too but it better be a clear bpa by magnitudes because we are going to have to trade a d at a loss after the draft
This. At this point we have to consider that we will be obligated to devalue our assets because of the sheer size of the available pool of D’s.

It’s not bad per say, but it needs to be understood that we won’t maximise our assets, while having a painfully obvious need for talented forwards.

The league is too strongly driven by gate receipts and goes for volume (number of games) rather than intensity of viewership. It's a bit of a trap because with a superior show -- more talent, more skill, more depictions of speed -- it is likely the NHL can easily double its audience in ten years. A 70 or 65 game season would be perfect. Far too many games, far too boring a show -- it makes it that fans are either far too casual (and don't mind missing the show here and there) or they become crazy die-hards who would consume and spend money regardless... it just makes it that each portion is smaller.
Slaf got a hattrick. As a die-hard Habs fan, you must be stoked? Then again if he dominated in the AHL last season, he'd probably be winning the Hart Trophy this season...eh?

We are finishing 8th, that seems like the highest odds right now given everyone's schedule.

no way we have the highest odds look at Calgary's schedule

We're getting 5th. Tonight was the last hoorah for the boys, now its showtime

Was amazing to watch Slafkovsky first hattrick!

but now the stress sets in... as it sucks having to rely on Arizona and Calgary to win thier games to save the tank ...

but tonight's game was worth the win just for Slafkovsky continued dominance and progression!

alright, now let's go Flames and Coyotes!

Not a chance 7th maybe. And then at least one team before them will win the lottery to move the Habs to 8th where they will have to take a defenseman.

Our win puts us into 6th again. We're tied with Ottawa in pts & gp, but they have the RW tie breaker.

We're now one point back of Calgary, but Flames do have 2 games in hand. They play one tonight @ San Jose, which they should win - seriously.

Things aren't looking too good for Arizona, but it's still really early in the game.

I really need a Calgary win to easy my nerves a bit.. I've accepted we're picking 5-7th... 8th has no business being in the conversation! lol

Games in hand mean nothing when you lose them all lol.
