I propose a 2nd playoffs for trash teams.
The trash playoffs if you will.
The winner of the trash playoffs wins the 1st overall pick.

It’s genius and adds more games, more revenue.
Maybe even trash crests for the jerseys.

So the lottery gonna be who is the most lucky in the last 3-5 games of the season? It's such a small sample size that luck play a huge role.
I don’t know what a better solution might be but seeing several fan bases every season grappling with tanking vs. head coaches trying to win at all costs, and all the fan in-fighting it begets on all platforms is mostly a sorry, unsportsmanlike spectacle.

But hey, happy trolling. A great content-filler on slow news days. :sarcasm:

Bottom 5 teams collecting all the lotto balls.

We’re certainly not having fun trying to get into the playoffs
This is all the fun we have going on.

Yep, I wouldn't mind if they reach to get Iginla.
I suspect that one or both of Catton and Eiserman will also still be available when the Habs pick. Depends on what you think their respective ceilings are . . . relative to Iginla’s. I would swing for the fences with Eiserman but it’s not my call.

You cant be serious with ur post… Hughes has been trying to trade Allen all year nobody wants him because he demands a high salary for this year and next and not good enough for it at 50% sure for maybe a 3rd

You also dont think Armia and Anderson would of been long gone if a team was interested in them? what exactly is Anderson doing to be paid 5.5mill for multiple seasons cap is the most important thing in this league and you think someone would wanna use 5.5 on a useless Josh? Armia spent some time in the AHL because of how bad he was yes since then he stepped it up abit but hes still ass and shows up 1 game outta 5 Savard i agree that he would be of interest but idk about guaranteed 1st that wont happen unless we retain 50%

I easily give away Armia,Allen and Anderson for free just to get rid of those awful contracts
anything and everything is speculative.. Nobody was going to take Allen at the beginning of the season, but at trade deadline his value as backup is more important. I do agree his seasonal numbers are subpar, but again that could do with the peculiar 3 goalie strategy. Reality is hugo didn't want to let Primeau go for free, and I don't blame him.

Andy will require we take back a contract (bc of term). Armia is who he is (TDL pick ups). But I disagree that their stats on probably the worst 4 team in the league is not telling of how they would fair on another team (an issue many Habs fans get trapped in often).

I'm not suggesting we are going to get anything of serious value back, with the exception of Savard (a late 1st), just that they will be dealt.

Yep, I wouldn't mind if they reach to get Iginla.
no, I don't want to see them spend the top 6 pick on Iginla, but I would love them to use the WPG pick, plus plus to move up and snag him in the 15th spot (type of thing).

Ouch our 2nd 1sts this year and next belong to the top 2 teams in the league right now... It's really not looking good.

Hopefully somehow Winnipeg don't win their division this year and even more importantly, hopefully Calgary don't finish bottom ten next year. Because Florida isn't missing the playoffs next year.

I think taking Catton is a bigger ‘swing’.

We knew Winnipeg 1st would be late . No surprise there .

For Calgary 1st , we don’t control where tell finish . Let’s hope for the best . But don’t forget we got those 2 1st for Monahan… it’s already excellent . It’s not like we’ve traded prime Subban for it

Florida has been incredibly injury free in the last few years. The only chance for them to miss the playoffs is if their luck runs out next season. Another long playoff run might help that.

That never happens in reality. Last time Habs moved up that I can remember they went from 27 to 24 and it ended up being a stupid bust move (Tinordi).

It's you get who you prefer when it's your time to call, throwing the asshole scouts who tell you otherwise in a dungeon. That's how it is..

Why? Size? He will likely put up 50 goals on a bad team.
I was trying to imply that Catton has a higher upside than Eiserman, as Catton projects as a Barzal/Point type forward. And if he meets that projection, that is a home run, in any park. Could you ask for more?

If comes down to between Catton and Lindstrom, I go with the latter. But if its between Eiseman and Catton, the choice, in my opinion, is an easy one.

It becomes a lot less clear if Demidov is still on the board. That is when Hughes will earn his salary. I know what I would do.

Given that Eiserman is not physical whatsoever, I would tend to agree, for now. Still several months to go.

I'm even wondering if Ignla > than Eiserman at this point.

Got it. I thought you meant bigger risk. I like Catton over Eiserman. And as long as Lindstrom isn't injury prone the size and skill package makes him the choice. Lindstrom didn't miss any time last season so hopefully his injury is a one off. And if Lindstrom and Demidov are available that would be a difficult decision.

Winnipeg were on a 5 game losing streak as Monahan joined them. So I was hoping for an implosion like they had at the end of last year. But like Florida last, they sank in the standings when they had injuries, then so far have surged when healthy.

I almost want to put the tank on hold to beat olympic diver Tkachuk. Almost. There are bigger priorities than that punk.

If Xhakej doesn't punch his face in i'm willing to win this one so Tkachuk throws a tantrum at the end and ends up bloody because you already know Xhakej will be out there.
