Liking any solution that minimizes tanking. NHL needed to address it.

And are those points then weighed by a percentage based on how many potential points your team could garner compared to another that might be eliminated 5 games later? Great ingenuity? Sorta not really at all, and just another band-aid on the problem in the NHL of too many teams making actual consistent competitive play for the Cup a pipe dream for decades for many teams.does that mean once a team is mathematically eliminated, they start gaining lottery points by winning games? The team with the most wins gets to pick first? If so, that could be cool and be something that actually makes the season watchable for shitty teams. However, being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs usually happens only a few days/weeks before the end of the season
I think the top 3 forwards go top 5 (6 latest) so there is a set goal imo.Damn you guys are really losing your minds when we got completely dominated by a team without their best player and lost 13 in a row. We suck, we will draft very high, and there is no set range we need to be in (based on realistic rankings) for this draft like last year.

I seriously doubt it, it’s a very good dman draft class. Demidov especially won’t be going too high due to various factors.I think the top 3 forwards go top 5 (6 latest) so there is a set goal imo.

err...wouldn't this mean the worst team stay being the worst teams as they will get the worst draft picks (besides the teams that make the playoffs)? And will, by default, make the teams who just missed the playoffs, and those that do make the playoffs, continue to be the best teams in the league?
Not that I heard, but he is the anti-tank commander and moves like Mario. I just mean he would be the one vet gone as a forward that would not be addition by substraction. Are there rumours that Armia is about to be traded?
We’ll see but I think they’re gone by 6th latest.I seriously doubt it, it’s a very good dman draft class. Demidov especially won’t be going too high due to various factors.
We are already 6th at the moment and it’s highly unlikely we go are any higher pre lottery. We’ll see but I think they’re gone by 6th latest.
The PWHL only has 6 teams and there isn't that much difference between them. The team currently in the spot to get the 1oa has the top scorer in the league and the 5th one, let in the least goals in 12 games and have the 2nd best goalie in league. But somehow, NYC is 8 pts behind Montréal with a single game in hand...err...wouldn't this mean the worst team stay being the worst teams as they will get the worst draft picks (besides the teams that make the playoffs)? And will, by default, make the teams who just missed the playoffs, and those that do make the playoffs, continue to be the best teams in the league?
The idea is to find a system that works. That fans end up rooting for losses while the head coach doesn’t give two craps about it, creates misaligned expectations. That system wouldn't work with a larger league, they would probably go for a lottery system at that point.
If they don’t need to address it then enjoy more of this:
We are already 6th at the moment and it’s highly unlikely we go are any higher pre lottery.
Even if that's the case, who do you pick at #7 ?According to you, which ultimately means nothing. We have the hardest schedule in the league to close the last 23 games. Arizona and Ottawa are literally right there in the standings and CBJ is 6 points back with 2 games in hand. We just got dominated by one of the teams we're 'unlikely' to pass and goalied them out of a win. 'Highly unlikely' indeed.
When I say “any higher” I’m talking about drafting later than 6, as in 7-15, so a higher number.According to you, which ultimately means nothing. Tanking is not even a problem to begin. It's a natural cycle and it's there to give the worst teams the best options at rebuilding. The idea is to find a system that works. That fans end up rooting for losses while the head coach doesn’t give two craps about it, creates misaligned expectations.
I wish there were a way to make the pursuit of wins matter for every team until full completion of the regular schedule.
Even if that's the case, who do you pick at #7 ?
Gonna be between Eiserman, Catton & Iginla I think. Otherwise we can always pick Parekh or Buium
I think after 1OA it will be a total toss up, teams will likely select based on position of need D vs FEven if that's the case, who do you pick at #7 ?
