I doubt they'll do that.. they'll put Newhook back at center most likely.
Newhook was not good a center at the start of the year, won't be much difference. Might end-up with Anderson again on top of it...

The reason of the season will be awful to watch now.

MTL
Hughes insisting on no retention for Monahan means we likely use it to offload another vet, Savard? Should sink us even more.

At this point, it's all great to sign Gignac if nothing else happens. Or call up Andersson....but I do hope that we don't f*** up Laval,s chance to go far this year. If anything else, add players for the farm team at the deadline if you can't do anything else.

Would the Rangers part with Belzile? They haven't used him.

Let's be honest.... this team has been hard to watch this season, and we're going to be down to being a 1-line team all over again (and that line is nothing to write home about).

I expect to zip through a lot of games on my DVR because slogging through Pezzetta and Gallagher misplaying the puck and taking bad penalties is going to get old, fast.

I'm praying to the lottery gods that we get Celebrini.

Didn't we intentionally save a retention spot last year because Hughes wanted the flexibility of one at the draft? Wouldn't surprise me if that was the case again this year.

Also even though losing Monahan and possibly someone else will make us worse, keep in mind other teams around us are doing the same. When Calgary also trades Hanifen and Tanev after already dealing Lindholm that could cause us to rise rather then sink. Seattle has some pending UFAs that they probably should deal and might want to deal some guys with term as well.

Niagara Falls, Ont.
today is a good day to be on the tank! :)

A 24' 1st round + the likelihood of losing even more games... just a beautiful trade.

I was starting to worry a bit there... but I think 5th is now even more realistic to hope for :D

Call me crazy, but without Monahan, finish bottom 4 is still possible. Columbus isn't far away of MTL. MTL just lose a huge piece and maybe more until the trade deadline. (Like Savard). Yeah Habs have 1 game in hands, but inly 6 points difference.
