Man that Jackets - Blues game has to be flipping boring. It's 0-0, shots are 11-9 through 2 periods.

20 combined shots in 40 minutes. Damn, glad I'm not watching it.
Well, we have had a few epic snoozefest Habs games this year, especially with our lacklustre offense far too often disappointing. Our fans are uniquely qualified to watch that Blues crapfest.

Columbus actually beat the Blues, 1-0. That moves them to within 6 pts of Montreal maybe there is a chance they can catch us. Montreal holds a game in hand, and the two teams are tied in RW.

Sharks have a 1-0 lead on the Kraken midway through the 3rd. These 2 games are not exactly rolling on offense.

Yeah, but usually the other team dominates on shots, like when Philly was outshooting Montreal 20-5 in 2nd period. It's pretty unusual for both teams to be trash offensively.

Tuesday’s l’antichambre’s episode nailed it in my opinion specifically the “gagner ou perdre,le choix ou la progression” segment regarding where were at and what direction we should take.

Yes, if we trade Monahan it'll hurt us offensively for sure, and we'll probably fall off. If we trade, Savard I think the D falls off a cliff. He's been our best defensive defenseman by far. I would like to hold on to him and have him as Hutson's partner. Trade him at 2025 TD.

I wouldn't trade both. Not yet anyway. I will like to mix quality veterans with youthful skill.

Ideal be trade Monahan, sign him in summer. Trade Savard next deadline.

Ottawa plays another one of their games in hand tonight, so they'll be down 2. They're @ Detroit.

No one cares about Sharks @ Ducks. Basement dwellers for sure.

LAK @ Nashville, it would be nice if that was a 3 pt game. Both teams are tied at 54 pts, 6 pts up on Montreal.

Ottawa wins!

6 points back with only 2 games in hand; however Ottawa is on their bye week now, and don't play again til February 10th.

Montreal will play @ Washington before then, so Ottawa will be back to having 3 games in hand.

CGY trading Lindholm this early was a strategic tank move. We really need to not wait til last min with Monyhands - which also risks injury.

They'll move Monahan as soon as their asking price is met - that will happen a lot sooner than it would have otherwise as Lindholm is off the market. Monahan is the best option now and it is do you meet the price now or wait and see your competitor pay it.

I think there's an argument that Henrique is a better fit for a lot of teams given his defensive play. Wennberg (he's actually made available) may be too if you're looking for just a mediocre center to fill a role.

The difference with Monahan's cap hit is less than half of theirs, so is that its easier to deal him. Some teams interested in a center need to either send salary back or more likely get double retention. Montreal can move him to anyone, with or without retention.

Monahan being gone weeks ahead of the trade deadline will put a huge burden on an already weak center line.

They'll have no choice but to put Slaf back on L1, he can't be centered by Jake Evans.
Slaf will be centered by Condotta or Stephens, it won't be Jake Evans.

Doesn't matter who it is.. that's not good for his development.

He can play with Newhook when he gets back.. but until then, that's a big burden to put on a 19 year old.
I suspect Newhook will be put with CC/Suzuki once he's back and Slaf will be stuck having to carry the bottom 9 by himself.
