Team unexpectedly beat Dallas and unexpectedly lost to Buffalo. I’m good either way.

Dvorak’s another injury up front. We’ll be bottom ten, maybe even bottom five.

I'm confident that Habs will have a top 10 pick this year. It's will difficult to predict when Habs are going before the Lottery Day, but bottom 10 finish looks like a the most realistic so far. I'm confident that we are going to have a really really good offensive prospect.

This draft looks stacked on D, but have solid offensive forward aswell.
Which is what we all said in last year's draft.....

Not a big fan of Newhook.
I hope Joshua Roy arrives soon.
Don't know if Roy is going to make it to the NHl next year or not. Also Newhook contract is very easy to trade at only 2.9m. We still need another good top 6 forward to play with Dach.

Sloppy game for many. Slaf was tired after the first. Struble was not as sharp as usual. Matheson, Evans sleeping on the PK. Kind of expected after coming back from the 7-away game Christmas trip. Don't be hard on the boys, the season has these games that are difficult to win because of the schedule. They have been playing a lot of hockey lately. They are playing well most of the times, the kids are developing, and we will be picking 1-8 in the next draft. Best outcome on all points.

This team is not winning anything anyway before the Gallagher contract is dealt with, and this will take a few more years. Patience.

The standings are looking pretty good now.

Currently we sit 8th last, with Buffalo and Minnesota breathing down our necks. If we could finish 6th last, I think that would be a win, all things considered.

Would be great if Ottawa and/or Columbus could get it together and we could finish 4th or 5th last.

Sabres and Wild just 1 point back of us now, and we're inching closer and closer to Columbus with each loss. Sens are terrible but we have to assume that they'll pass us too, they're just too talented not to finish ahead of us IMO. It's looking like we're on track for 28th or 29th place depending on how Columbus does in the 2nd half.

Dvorak gone for the season and Monahan hopefully traded soon

Habs would drop hard in the standings
Dvorak was playing like a replaceable bottom 6 player, one of RHP/Pearson will easily replace his "contribution" once they come back in about ~2.5 weeks.

Monahan getting traded will probably not change that much either, since the trade deadline is around when Newhook is supposed to come back.

I hope they keep riding the 3 goalies until deadline and they trade Moneyhands sooner than later. That's what i think would be the biggest part in falling down the standings. But no matter what happens, we will finish somewhere between 6OA and 8OA.

I don't see how we finish in the top three without help from the lottery....

Other good news for the tank...

As of today we have the 4th hardest remaining schedule. The next closest team of the bottom 10 right now is Columbus, who has the 17th hardest remaining schedule.
