So the years after the opt out are ~24M-29M each and everything before is 18M or less.

12:45pm: Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reports that Berrios received a $5MM signing bonus and will be paid $10MM next season (Twitter link). He’ll then earn salaries of $15MM, $17MM, $18MM, $18MM, $24MM and $24MM. During the 2026-27 offseason, he’ll decide whether to opt out of the remaining two years and $48MM on his contract — which would give him the opportunity to reenter the market in advance of his age-33 season.

Hot damn!

Im sorry, but you cannot just ignore April. April exists and games are played. Choosing to eliminate his worst month while only including his good months paints the wrong picture. How about we eliminate his best month and keep April in and lets see those numbers again. Ffs.

Did I say ignore April? No, I pretty clearly stated April happened and I said "Even counting the brutal April (even by Danny's cursed BABIP standards) he would be 12th in wRC+ for catchers that had over 200PA last season".

I also explained why April was so poor (his awful BABIP) and talked about how he was elite offensively almost the moment the month turned over (which I stated probably 10-15 times in the GDT's over the year, which I don't remember seeing you in those?).

ffs.

I'd hang onto Kirk until I can see how well Moreno plays in the big leagues assuming he gets called up at some point next year. I just want to make sure he's as good as seems to be in the Major Leagues before the FO can part ways with Kirk via trade

Kirk is clearly one of the best young catchers in the league so I wouldn't want to let him go unless we know for sure Moreno is going to be even better than Capt. Kirk

I still really like Jansen, so in a situation where Moreno doesn't work out (or takes a while to adjust or whatever) I would still be comfortable that their catching situation is solid.

Ive always been a big Jansen supporter so I can have a bias. However, his defense is above average and his offense is around average. I have no problem allowing him to figure it out because if he doesn’t, you have at least an average catcher. McGuire is the one I’d get rid of. His bat is too awful.

Individually, I don't want them to trade Jansen and I don't want them to trade Kirk. Kirk has a chance to be an elite hitter, and I still think there's plenty of upside in Jansen's bat. But it doesn't make much sense to keep them both at this point, so I think one of them should be moved.

One is traded for an asset they need more.
The other is the everyday catcher.
McGuire is the backup to start the season.
Moreno smashes down the door and takes over soon anyway.

After sending Riley Adams packing....

Impressive being able to do both quite well despite the injuries. Highly doubt it keeps up though. He will end up picking one or the other imo.

How would Baez look with the Jays?
Not a fan tbh he's too wild of a player and he's going to cost quite a bit. Trevor Story is probably the better option although the last time we took a shot at a Colorado SS it didn't exactly go as fully planned although Tulo did have his moments

We don't win the series against Texas without Tulo's clutch homer in Texas and Marco Estrada's clutch pitching.

He's forgiven.

I have basically no interest in Story at this point. Baez's elite defense would be a nice addition, but I feel like his contract could age poorly.
