George McPhee's a good dude.

Was up in Toronto for a Caps Road Crew trip in 2003, hit the HHOF for a visit, was in the Stanley Cup room and was standing back 'cause we hadn't won it (YET). Other folk milling about and another guy stands up against the wall next to me. I glance over, it's GMGM. I've got a Caps hat on, I ask "not getting near it?" he says "Not 'til we've earned it". We nod, smile, and that was it.

He also took on the whole of the Chicago Blackhawks singlehandedly in '99 after they dressed goons against the Caps in the preseason game. Got a month suspension for it and lost a good suit but man, that's what you want from an executive.

Lamdeskog’s a really nice guy. So was Eddie Läck, Hedman, Lidström (but he ranks down a bit b/c of his cheating)

BoroCop stopped someone, taking a ladies purse, and riding off on a bike.
By clothe lining the suspect on the bike.

Good guy in my book.

I am an Oilers fan. I don't like the Canucks, but Brock Boeser might be one of the best humans around.

I was at a restaurant a year ago or so and walked into the bathroom. The only other person in there was Brock Boeser going pee in a stall. He turned and gave me a genuine smile, dick in hand.

Came off as a nice guy in that moment

Moscow, Russia
Datsyuk

is simply so friendly and gentle that even the players he made look stupid, whom he broke ankles and stole pucks from, couldn’t help but feel nice to him

Whoever steps up to initiate a national grassroots minor hockey funding program will graduate from “typical pos hockey player” to possibly nice guy

Marchand paid for me and some buddies dances in a strip club back in 2012… that was pretty nice.

When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Gary Bettman.
I was nervous as f***, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Gary, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Gary put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.
This is a true story. I was the 3 month old niece

Dennis Savard, Steve Larmer, Stan Mikita, Chris Chelios in no particular order I have had a drink with or caddied for or had a mutual acquaintance and spent some time with. All of them fun good hearted people.

Craig Laughlin. I think you could argue that he's the most important non-Ovi figure to hockey taking off so much in the DMV -- just a gem in every interaction he has, super active in the community too.
