I certainly didn't edit the post to add that information in. Nope. Couldn't have happened.

Rantanen might be the only elite elite level forward with no issues (behavioral, physical) traded in recent years. I mean, when was the last time a 100+ point forward was traded? Stone & Eichel didn't have a history of multiple 100+ point seasons when they were traded.

Guentzel is close too. Was on pace for 94 points last season, had gone over PPG on some mediocre Pittsburgh teams, and is a playoff performer.Matthew Tkachuk for Jonathan Huberdeau.
with no issues, Calgary had one big issue with Tkachuk, he won't sign, oh wait .. i guess that is the same issue Avs faced too. Nevermind. . But I think even then, Rantanen is way more proven.Matthew Tkachuk for Jonathan Huberdeau.
The Avalanche traded Rantanen because they didn't want to pay him the money he wanted. But he otherwise wanted to stay. The Flames would have happily paid Tkachuk the money he want, but he didn't want to stay in any event.with no issues, Calgary had one big issue with Tkachuk, he won't sign, oh wait .. i guess that is the same issue Avs faced too. Guentzel is nowhere close to Tkachuk and Rantanen thoughGuentzel is close too. Was on pace for 94 points last season, had gone over PPG on some mediocre Pittsburgh teams, and is a playoff performer.
Patrick Kane was one season removed from 92 points.
well, it turns out Rantanen wanted to stay but the agent and him f***ed up that negotiation but yeah at the end of the day, the issues are similar, one side didn't want to sign. The Avalanche traded Rantanen because they didn't want to pay him the money he wanted. Marek suggesting Pettersson and Tocchet don’t get along.

Sure, but he also got completely screwed over when he was here, I can see why he is pissed off. It's kinda ridiculous - it appears he's claiming that Rutherford was putting pressure on him to agree to his option year but it's obvious that Rutherford actually wanted him gone.
I guess it's hard to see the game pass you by but a guy who has coached teams to 600 wins in the NHL should probably have a bit of a thicker skin.
Agreed, though Marek has never struck me as someone who makes things up either.I dunno, Marek is a Leafs guy so seems unlikely he'd have inside info.
Allvin has stated repeatedly that Tocchet and Pettersson have a good relationship.

That being said, my god, how long has it been already?
Finger lickin good

But the issues were entirely different between those two situations. The only similarity is that each player was traded and didn’t sign, but the why is completely different.well, it turns out Rantanen wanted to stay but the agent and him f***ed up that negotiation but yeah at the end of the day, the issues are similar, one side didn't want to sign.
Ya, things get painted in a very black and white way for relationships when in reality they are not. Pettersson is likely frustrated with his current play, and for good reason, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all that he isn’t loving playing for Tochett given how he’s played the last year. But that doesn’t mean he hates Tochett or anything.I mean, this one isn’t hard to read the tea leaves on. It’s also not a coaches job to be liked, it’s to get the best out of your guys. Their relationship likely strained when Tocchet was wondering wtf was going on with Petey for over a year like the rest of us, and then worked him to try and fix it.
Petey comes in and plays well next year, guarantee there’s no problem between player and coach.
Also I’m an idiot for forgetting the Huberdeau + Weager deal for Tkachuk, that was the other time a winger demanded elite assets. I still think the Canucks can get what they’re looking for on the wings cheaper than people think (assets wise, not contract).
