Less goons, more physical players that can actually play hockey.
More clean hits, less fights after them.
Less teams, more talented players.

Less goalie padding, More accountability for the refs.

This. With modern technology we can easily go to 80's size goalie pads and still protect the goalie. Put some mother effing Kevlar in those pads for darn's sake! Reduce the size and up the protection. You know they can afford it.

Less no games day like today.

These men have families. I appreciate the NHL for not having games on Christmas/Christmas Eve. This policies reeks of class and integrity (or NHLPA union clout, not sure which).

The NFL/NBA are money ****** so they take husbands and fathers away from their families on what many consider the most sacred holiday.

I've read interviews with NFL players that hate playing on Christmas/Thanksgiving but they have no choice.

This year is a rare NFL exception as all teams must play on Sunday for week 17 so as to impart no playoff advantage.

There's nothing sacred about it. It's an invention; the feast of Christmas predates JC. It had a different name before, look it up. I don't really care though, they need a break once in a while during a 82 games season and this is a good opportunity for it.

The NHL needs less teams and more talented players.

Yule Tide. A northern European holiday from ancient times that was stolen and turned into Christmas during the dark ages when Christianity was trying to convert the Northern European population into christians.
