First team is:

Koivu
Kovalev
Plekanec
Weber
Markov
Price

Second team is:
Suzuki
Pacioretty
Gallagher
Subban
Souray
Theodore

What do you all think? Personally, I wouldn't have Plekanec ahead of Pacioretty or Suzuki and while I never liked Kovalev, I get it. I'd also have Petry over Souray.

Blah overall...

But if we're on the topic, I think I'd have Pacioretty on the first team as well, and then Caufield over Plekanec on the second team.

As also Cammalleri and Radulov give Gallagher a run for his money. It depends if you go quantity over quality...

And I'd want to find a way to put Kovalchuk somewhere!

No problem with Petry over Souray. But Hamrlik may be the better overall D?

what a pathetic collection of talent for 25 years. Show what a failure the Molson family is. The odd stud like Suzuki and Price. The first round talent this team passed lol

Price and Suzuki - sure
but for 25 years ?

K , that's my negativity for the day

They missed Radulov, Caufield, Cammalleri, Hamerlik. That would increase the talent.

Radulov played one season and Kovalchuk played 22 games.. Neither of them should be anywhere near the Habs all star teams for the last 25 years.

If the criteria is career stats, I suppose that is a good list. But I would take Caufield all day over Gallagher and Lane over Souray.

I think old geezers like me will agree; these 2 all star teams are just plain said.
Of all the guys there, probably only Price cracks the 2nd team of the previous 25 years.

No matter what, apart from Price and Subban it’s been pretty underwhelming for the past 25 years. At least they played at a HOF level.

Ouff pretty bad... let's hope the next one will be better!

Weber over Subban is insane.

Subban had 55 playoff games with the Habs and picked up 38pts. I think he led the Habs in playoff points every season too. He was a huge contributor and for a longer time and hit higher highs personally.

Pacioretty should be on the first team over Plekanec, you're right.
Souray hit higher highs than Petry so I get that one.
Pacioretty over Plek is completely bullshit.

Subban vs Weber is interchangeable, edge goes to Weber for the long term impact he had on the culture

Unlucky for you but hockey was also played prior to 2016

Weber being severely underrated in this thread. It's close, and Subban had more highlight reel moments, but Weber made a bigger overall impact on team success.

It's close if you were just taking either of them at their peak (even in MTL) but Subban had a good chunk more games (regular season and playoffs) and Weber spent a lot of the back half of his time in MTL slowed by injuries even when he was able to play, he clearly wasn't the same dude night to night.

Weber obviously had a clear leadership component PK didn't but PK's energy was really important on those good 2013-2015 teams, especially in big games.

I honestly don't care a ton about these kinds of things and Weber obviously had the better career big picture but just factoring their time in MTL and where they were in their careers, I'd probably just defer to the GP gap as a deciding factor.

First team hell of a good team. Only I would put Pacioretty over Plekanec. Patches better goal scorer
