Bump

So a friend of mine gave this to me as a gift

lCuveeNoireBottle.png

It's Brooklyn Cuvee Noire. A Belgian Style Stout.

Starts out oaky finishes citrusy and incredibly carbonated. The taste stays with your for quite a while

If you like your tongue blown away, this is for you. For me, I pass.

I like my ales, irish stouts, and lagers.

A 4/10 IMO

Faced two bottles of wine tonight. Luckily the encovre of The walking Dead Season Premiere is on tonight, I missed it Sunday.

The wine is Domaine D'Lenclose Gros Mans, a lovely light bodied white wine with strong honey and fruit notes. Highly recommended. 8.5/10.

Also, bumping the dRunks thread because dRunks.

Tried the new Valor Morgulus Game of Thrones Ommegang beer. Not bad, but a bit hoppier then I like. I liked the dragon one better personally.

I need to get up and do a brewery tour up there.

edit: Missed this the first time. The L'enclose is 10.99 a bottle at the store I work at. It's a sweet white, but not sugary sweet. Lots of honey and fruit notes. Very smooth an not minerally like a riesling, but not sugary like a moscato. very light and refreshing

Light and crisp, not too sweet nor super dry is how I enjoy whites. Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon blanc are usually me speed fbut I'm always up for a good $10 bottle. Thanks.

Ever been so runk you thought th at being here was a goo idea > ? Welcome to me y world.

Angry Orchard cider. Not overly sweet. Could definitely see myself getting hammed off it without feeling like I have a fur coat on my teeth after one sip.

Ok ppls.... This is just my 2nd post in the drinks thread ever. I've never been super educated on drinking and I seem to stick to what I like. Looking to try a different beer but don't know where to start. The few I've found I really like are Blue Moon, Amber Bock and Shock Top.

Can anyone suggest anything for me to pick up today?

Based on what you listed as liking; UFO Belgian White

Does UFO stand for something?

Not that I'm aware, it's just the name of the beer, made by Harpoon

To really get that citrusy/orange taste out of beers like Blue Moon/Shocktop (which are among those I like a lot), an orange always helps, but with UFO White it's got a stronger orange flavor to it without even adding the orange

If you wind up trying it, let me know what ya think

I'm going to pick up a 6 pack for tonight. Any other suggestions for a second one?

I've never had it personally, but most seem to like Allagash White who like the beers we are discussing

Hoegaarden is another one I've had that is somewhat similar, but doesn't have the orange flavor so much rather more of a creamy one

Struck out at the first place I tried that I assumed would have the best chance of having it.
