I'm sure you did. I opted to go back and count, just to check a theory of mine. Wanted to figure out how often this thread gets bumped and by who. Methodology of choice: if there was more than one day between posts, then that counts as a bump.
We've had 40 bumps. Here's the leaderboard, from lowest to highest, with tiebreakers determined by most recent bump:

I think it's hilarious anybody thinks we need a thread for negativity. ****, we have negative posts in GDTs that we CRUSH the opponent. Only like every third post in any given thread even hits at positivity or optimism.

The problem is that in a discussion forum, participation is done by, well, speaking up. And it's easy to not speak up when you agree (and just nod or something) and just as easy to speak up when you don't agree. So the negative is accentuated.
Personally, I'd love to see a "thanks for this post" voting/kudos system here like I've seen on other boards to try to help offset that, but I suspect it won't happen due to system load considerations.

We haven't locked down that WC1 spot and the mild are now only 4 points behind us. And they are playing well unlike the crap show we have had the last 2 games. We can't seem to get it together when it really counts ever. We have backed into the playoffs how many times now? Missed out on a division title at least twice.
But that is not what you said in your post. Hanging on to the WC1 is not the same as "pissing away opportunities to get to the next level"
And I can't stand the term "backing into the playoffs". No matter how we clinch, we did NOT back into the playoffs. We earned our way in by being the best team in the league over the past 2 months....
That would be like saying the Capitals backed their way into the President's trophy if they happened to clinch it because the 2nd place team lost.....

Dear whoever-your-chosen-deity is, we bumped this? really? Yes, we laid a stinker Mon, and yes, if we had the effort we got Tues on Mon we would have easily eliminated the Avs, but..... unless you want to make the point that you prefer to catch the Hawks (which I do, FWIW) because you think we have a better chance against DAL (which we do) or STL (which we don't) than either LA or ANA - then maybe you bump this. Otherwise - we're still like the 2nd hottest team in the last 6 weeks....

I'll put this one on Rinne, 6 goals in 2 games, all early. I don't know if we should start worrying or not, but we've seen Rinne slide earlier in the year, hope it's not happening again.
If it is Rinne then we aren't long for the postseason. His re-emergance has been key to our success lately. Without it we're a below average team.
No way- I will be the first to bash him if it is justified, but no way these two losses are on him. Especially Monday- none of those goals are on him.
That may be the case but if his confidence is shaken by it, whoever's fault it really is doesn't matter.

Ummmm.. Im gunna disagree with that. Without Rinne at his best we are an average team. With him we can beat anyone in a series, without question.

Yeah, people need to stop with the "we are totally reliant on Rinne" thing. Once upon a time that was true, and while I am in no way saying we don't need good goaltending to win- of course that is true for just about any team.
But we are not exactly chop liver- with Johansen on board and with the D we have, we have a pretty darn talented roster. We can roll 4 pretty good lines. It is at worst a top 10 roster in the league in my opinion.
EDIT- I do realize this is the negativity thread so I should probably stop replying.....

Um, he's a goaltender, all goals are on him. His only job is to stand in front of small box. I don't care if they were 6 breakaways, and they weren't, you shouldn't give up 6 goals like that. What happened Monday was terrible.

Poile's heart on his sleeve bit concerning Vesey, is just embarrassing at this point. Once again we look like a bush league franchise. No wonder guys don't want to come here. Really wish he would step aside.
