Jimmy Buffett

Cheeseburger In Paradise

Margaritaville

Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes

See, and now you own Jimmy Buffett. Or perhaps Jimmy Buffett owns you. Jimmy Buffett owns everything.

Perhaps y'all will get to share a Cheeseburger in Hell with old parrot head. Taxes and usage fees may apply.

I'll be there, though per usual I'll skip out early. Hell is an interesting place and I only have so much time.

{Actually, now that I think about it, time is not a thing in Hell. Even so, I have people to see -- Morrison, Little Bill & William Munny from Unforgiven, pop in on Lennon & Lenin, Stalin, like that.

(And places to go. We are preparing a bed of nails for Leader McConnell and another, specially constructed in service of maximum pain, for Angler. Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency: Gellman, Barton: 9780143116165: Amazon.com: Books

(It's a busy time.)

In the event, these are literally the only three Jimmy Buffett songs I know. That's enough.

Thanks for posting. :tinker::GWC:

I don't know about 'owning' anything that sounds more like Warren ... but all things being equal I would rather hang with Jimmy than Warren ... Jimmy would probably be more fun at a party.

Well then we will have to fix that....

Filmed live in '81 at the 7th St Entry. This was the secondary stage of the legendary First Avenue concert venue in Minneapolis. Seen a few shows here........A 14 year old Tommy Stinson on bass.

I know nothing of the Minneapolis scene at the time. Was there any concourse between Prince and bands like the 'Mats?

By '81 he had released four albums, including Dirty Mind (ab fab) and its follow up, Controversy (nothing to see here, move along).

Curious.

I'm a big fan as well. If you are just getting into them, check out their live album Light Fuse, Get Away. Its one of my favorite records. The song Space Wrangler is always in the rotation for my workout playlist.....

So this is Widespread Panic.

I'd certainly heard the name but not the music. Blowfish is responsible for introducing me.

As yet I've only listened to "All Time Low," but I liked it a lot.

Thank you, sir.

So I guess a lot of people have known for like 23 years that this album is amazing. I just found out

I remember the name back then, and I think I liked one of their songs...

Don’t know if there’s any country fans out there but holy moly the new Luke Combs albums is incredible. I’m usually a classic rock guy but have always enjoyed Luke, give it a listen.

I like traditional twang myself.

C & W is a great American art form, like Folk, Blues, Jazz, R & B, Rock n' Roll, Soul, Funk, Rap, et. al.

The great popular composers like Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, etc. aka "the American songbook." Wr vsm credit Frank Sinatra for reviving that cannon through his interpretive genius.

And there's so much more to discover, sub genres like bluegrass, "Americana," etc.
I believe I have the re-release on CD. 71 and 72 were great years for music ... so many great albums released. The original release of Who's Next - every song was great. Heading into my teen years listening on vinyl, 8-track and then cassette that form of media kind of limited the number of songs on an album. Today with digital much easier to expand the number of songs on an album. Otherwise, there are other who songs that I like, but that album stands out to me. Plus it stands the test of time.

It's my favorite, too, and imho they're best.

My pet theory about both Who's Next and Sticky Fingers (both '71) is that with the 1970 breakup of the Beatles, those two groups in particular no longer had to contend with the 800 pund guerilla of pop music. Consequently, they felt liberated to do some of their very best work and they became the gold standard.

Just a thought.
