I saw Panic @ the Disco at the garden on Wednesday. Was never a huge fan of theirs but they put on a hell of a show
I often wonder what the musicians that died too young would have done if they lived.

I love Loretta Lynn's music, so honest & raw. Loved her too, she was always down to earth despite all the fame & fortune. Always enjoyed her interviews, she never held back on anything.

These guys have grown on me entirely due to Johnny Marr. I still think Morrissey is a colossal douche....
Can't really explain why I never took to these guys.....Sometimes you are just plain wrong.
Early on, I never appreciated Chris Cornell's vocals and thought that they always overpowered the song. Man was I wrong.

Well, I forgot. I haven't thought about Roky since hearing about -- but never actually listening to -- the 13th Flr. Elevators. Learned of RE in the 80s,

Watched the Sinead O'Connor documentary last night. She teeters on the edge of keeping it together, but she was right more often than she was wrong. World wasn't ready for her though.
Unfortunately, Sinead has a serious mental illness, even today. It's sad and you're right. The world wasn't ready for her.

The SNL Pope incident was actually 30 years ago this week. Not going to get into the merits of what she was protesting since people get very emotional over it, but I think everyone would agree that it was a botched protest because it didn't bring any attention to the underlying issue she was trying to protest, it just made her look very disrespectful to an entire religion and she never actually clarified anything during or after the fact. And that completely ruined her career.
But yeah, she apparently had trauma as a child with her mother being abusive and has some serious mental illnesses and keeps acting out in stranger and stranger ways. Good singer but shot herself in the foot with that one moment and can't dig herself out of it.

I never got Radiohead until fairly recently either. Everywhere I looked on the internet or everything people were saying in college was about how genius they were. And I only really knew Creep and Karma Police which are good songs but nothing I'd go out of my way to buy a CD of.
Eventually I stumbled onto a performance of theirs on an old SNL from 2000 just when I was browsing on the TV and I thought it was pretty good, and that led me to Kid A which I had never heard before, and that album is really dope. It's the best combination of late 90s British rock with turn-of-the-millennium electronica. But I'd never heard it because there were no singles. Literally, they did not release any singles from the album so I would never have heard it on the radio. And it kind of all flows together as an album rather than a collection of individual songs too, so I don't think they really could've release singles anyway. So that revelation changed my mind on Radiohead. Not to say that I'm a huge fan or listen to them frequently, but I could go back and listen to Kid A every once in a while.
