Was it innocent times then or just not known? if innocent, what's responsible for the spike since the 70?

Creeps have been around since the dawn of man, it was just too often brushed aside ( and still is too often today). The music industry was full of them, but they kept a lid on the product for years. This was considered risque in the day.



Ed Sullivan made them change the "Night together" to 'Some time together"

Dreamboat Annie is one of my all time favorite albums (yeah I'm THAT old). One of the things I love about it is the use of various instruments: flute & banjo specifically that just aren't used in rock anymore. A lot of people put down the music from that time but at least back then artists weren't afraid to use a variety of instruments to make their music.
