I cancelled my cable with Shaw so I haven't been following. I'm considering paying for the Sportsnet+.

How's Arvid doing?
SN+ is kind of cool. I've been watching UFC and WWE and tons more hockey than I can on regular tele.
It's not the most reliable though, like some days it's just bad for disconnecting but the next it is perfect.. Like the Oilers!

You realize both things can be true?

He wasn't good in preseason, but has really come on.
No. They can’t. Because the preseason is meaningless and players don’t give it 100 percent or have any stakes in results.

I mean sure you can say he looked bad in preseason but it has no bearing on anything.

Did you go with the premium package?
It’s the only way to get all the games.

If you are in Edmonton though you will be dealing with blackouts. I live in Ottawa and don’t get Sens games. If Edmonton is playing Ottawa I have to watch it on tsn.

Slowly everyone is starting to get their game under them.

The only players that haven't really had anything "good" happen for them to lean on are Hyman and Nuge, and Arvidsson to a lesser extent. They need something to go in so they can start feeling better. Nuge especially is just playing some rancid hockey.

The much maligned "old and slow" bottom 6 was extremely effective again, with the two oldest and slowest players, Ryan and Perry, playing very well. Henrique might have been our best off season move. Having a steady, stable, smart two way player at 3C is massive for this team, and something we literally haven't had since Peca in 2006. Once one stops obsessing about their age, you can really appreciate the impact they make on the ice.

Still a few guys that need to wake up and get started, and still a few guys that aren't at full speed, but are showing signs of getting there. Hopefully we take another step and get a win tomorrow.

Thought it was our best goaltending game of the season by miles and Pickard often enough is the one putting these up. Shut down the most dangerous offensive club we've faced this season and on the road.

Some saves tonight Skinner doesn't get to.

Preds only mustered 9 sog in first half of game and that team looks like in a world of hurt. You're paying old Stamkos a ton of money and frankly he was invisible all game at EV. That won't be going down well. Preds in trouble.
The preds with 6 goals in 3 games are the most dangerous team offensively?

Hyman's been getting some chances at least. Nuge... not so much.

Nuge needs to get his feet moving. When he stands around and tries to compensate for it by flipping cute, soft saucer passes everywhere he is beyond terrible. Has to get skating.

Stability.

Very solid goaltending by Pickard. Need this guy to give them reliable support games and he delivered. Hard ice, big minutes and key situational play by Ekholm and Nurse starts to stabilize this team's own end play. Opportunistic Kulak helped with a big goal in a game featuring his top toi this season and support pk minutes.

Solid support players contributing as top elites continue to work to find their games. That's a positive sign. Team grinded out a big W with a subterranean shooting percentage that has now risen to 6.8%...

Bottom 6 has been very good this season. It's the top 6 that's been half-asleep, at least McDavid looks like he's waking up.
