Thanks, Scandale du Jour.
I see, the use of "pirates" was confusing. Survivors would've been more helpful. In that case, neither party knew of the other's existence/presence on Mand'lore until episode 7.
Someone else here called them pirates and I just borrowed that term because it seemed fitting for a bunch of homeless people on an 18th century naval-inspired ship.

You do see how that could be confusing when there are actual pirates in a couple of episodes this season? lol
Well, no, because I also described them as the group on Mandalore that pledged its allegiance to Bo-Katan in Episode 7. Regardless, that isn't what confused Jussi. He thought that I meant Axe Woves and his gang.

By the way someone on Youtube noticed that despite there being supposedly radiation in the atmosphere on Mand'lore that interferes with instruments and comms, Moff Gideon was able to have holoconference from the planet. Which means the interference isn't natural but caused by the Empire.

Interesting observation and we'll see if that's the case this week.

...or it's a plot hole.

Guess

guess we will see. Maybe the empire folks have tech that allows them to relay the signal off planet.

Or he just wasn't on Mandalore during that call. He could have simply been off-world during that call, met up with the re-inforcements, went down to the planet, then they hid the ships when the Mandalorian fleet approached to set up the ambush...

After a 2nd watch of "Spies" , that area where they were ambushed had to be an old Impereal outpost, not a ship like I thought. There was a wide shot and it looked like there were AT-AT and AT-ST lined up. It was probably used as a staging area during the purge.

I enjoyed the finale and the season overall, but thought it was definitely the weakest of the 3. It would've been hard top the season 2 finale, but even still it was just kind of alright.
