What an episode

Esposito is so good in villain roles

Very happy the writers made the decision to bring him back. He was going to be hard to one up as a villain anyway and with all the other story they are doing this season it would have fell flat for them to spend a whole bunch of time setting up somebody else.

Excellent episode, really well delivered. You can forgive a live action series some poor episodes in a season like this if it finishes strong. I was assuming the Mando gang would have a big showdown with somebody and they went with ol reliable. Everybody hates the Galactic Empire and you get some of that 'never tell me the odds' David v Goliath battle. Pretty cool to get a glimpse into the shadow council. Teenage me would be beyond thrilled with Admiral Pellaeon and Thrawn mentions.

I know some SW fans have grown tired of him but I love the Grogu stuff too. He gets knighted by Lizzo one week and then gets to ride in a battle droid the next. Cmon that's hilarious. No notes.

I was thinking the exact opposite the entire time. Usually stormtroopers keel over whenever a blast is within twenty feet of them, always thought how pointless stormtrooper armor was. In this one it felt like you could really feel that this was an elite troop with increased armor. Troops on both sides were shaking off hits unlike normally it's just the protagonists that could do that.

Well I thought that until the final confrontation when Paz Visla wiped out like 30 of them but beyond that moment which was needed for story it felt like these troops would actually have a chance when stormtroopers are normally the most useless army ever.

Yeah I was thinking of the final scene with Paz. Seemed like every shot took one down.

Another thought - when Grogu stopped that fight and Mando said “he didn’t learn that from me” - was he implying Grogu learned that from Luke?

The week before, the cameo episode, had me wondering where things were going. It was fun and all but felt more about the cameos than the 5 minutes of actual moving the story forward at the end.

Now this weeks episode was great and moved the plot of the show and introduced, in name only, the big bad for Ahsoka also. Some great tension between both clans of Mandos along with finding survivors on their planet and the return of Moff Gideon was all great.

Yeah I was thinking of the final scene with Paz. Seemed like every shot took one down.

Not sure if he was implying anything but it would be Luke or the Jedi or even maybe even his surviving and witnessing order 66 he did not want them to fight within their own ranks?

Now that more people have seen the episode....is it just me or did nobody really acknowledge seeing a freakin Mythosaur after they nearly got killed by one?

I figured there would be a lot more of excitement seeing the symbol of the Mandalorians that were supposed to be extinct for thousands of years

That wasn't a Mythosaur. It was something else.

thats one of the theories

personally I think

it's either Karga's droid or one of the other Mandos thats been in the covert since Navarro
I like the other theory

I believe it's one of the mandos because Esposito was waiting for them near the forge, so imo a mando told him they would be going there

Do you think the blacksmith is the other spy?

Unlikely, she knew they were unifying the tribes, Gideon was shocked when he was told it was happening.

The survivors I think possibly, they found the other tribes almost as soon as they landed, and led them directly to the forge where the ambush occured, If they knew the forge was there then how could they not know the imperial remnant had a base in it

It wasn't a Mythosaur, it was some other giant creature that had been awakened by the bombings on the planet. The show did a very poor job explaining this (one throwaway line about stuff being awakened earlier, and not giving us a very clear shot of what was emerging from the ground).

The Armorer's actions have not indicated in anyway that she would betray them.
She has the Darth Maul-era Deathwatch horns on her helmet, just like Gideon. She also immediately bailed right before they went into potential danger. They also spent time focusing on her travelling up into space towards the fleet, while intentionally not showing us the payoff of her landing there.

Counterpoint: Gideon seemed pissed that the factions were uniting when informed about it, and she instigated that

I litterally said out loud " it's a f-ing space Kraken attacking a Mandalorian pirate ship! Where's Jack Sparrow? "
