NHLPA rumored to be willing to take a 65 mill cap in yr 2 while league is still at 60. Split the difference and lets get going.

I am so tired of this ********. I just want some finality to this season. Either a 48 game season, or cancellation.

Thank God the end is near, one way or the other.

If they come to an agreement and we get a 48 game season, I guess the next real question is WILL THE FANS CARE?

The hardcore fans would show up to watch ice freeze. I'm talking about the average fans who OCCASIONALLY buy the tickets, occasionally buy the crap, buy the concessions, buy CI, and read the Dispatch.

I also wonder what our lovely HF here will be like. In the past, we cared too much. If we get a shortened season, and suck out of the gate, we'll probably just view it as a JOKE* year, and wait until next year to put our wretched hearts and overbearing arguments back into it.

Of course, even a JOKE* YEAR could be interesting. ;)

(*"Joke" or "Developing the young guys" or "building team chemistry" ...however the front office decides to spin it.)

Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to remind myself of the innocents who get hammered if the season gets cancelled (restaurant/bar owners, concession workers, ticket salespeople), I'd be pulling for a cancelled season at this point. Out of respect for them, I hope it gets resolved.

That said, and I don't want or expect anyone here to join me in a coordinated boycott or anything like that, I am planning on not attending any live games this year. I've attended around 12-18 games a year for the last 4 years. Many of those I've taken my whole family and I've plopped down some good coin at concessions those nights. But, I'm fed up with the stupidity and have been spending time going to Buckeye hockey games and have dedicated myself to coaching my kids' hockey this year instead.

If they come back this year, I'll follow the team's progress here and through online streams, and I'm planning on heading down to watch some games at Arena District bars like the R-Bar so that those places get some pay-back. I'm sure I'll be back to attending live games next year or the year after that, but I have no interest in spending any money directly on the team this year.

My one question is...I have a half season. Say we get our 48 game season, so we'll have 24 home games. Do I get twelve of those? Do I get my normal 20? I wasn't here for the last lock out.

The last lock out ended up cancelling the season so there is nothing to base this on. My guess would be that you would get 12 games and be refunded the cost of the 10 games missed.

If what is being reported as being the major issues, I don't see them as something that can't be overcome over the next week.

Personally I think they will make it an option for you. They would rather get you in the arena for 20 games instead of 12. Make the 2013-14 season as "clean" as possible from a finance standpoint, less lingering dollars out there.

Problem is that for most half season seats the other half is all ready sold to someone else. They may give you an option to buy additional tickets, but they can't give you your seat for more then 12 games.

Also keep in mind that money will have already been refunded to many people for the missed 10 games.

This is what happens when you're at work, you think of the last time we only had a 48 game season, instead of the last lock out, but that would make no sense since WE HAD NO TEAM. Anywho, the other person having my seat doesn't count since I'm in 228 with the ACA, we have the 20 some odd full season seats. So I guess if I had all 20 of my games, I would just end up buying the other 4 and going to a "full season".

Since you are with the ACA ticket option, wouldn't Brian just decide about how the tickets purchased for the group block would be offered to those who have already committed $ to some part of that block of tickets? Last year, there looked like a lot of open seats there so I am sure there will be flexibility on how many you get. Not sure the CBJ would need to be any part of that decision.

Traditional half season plans might be given a choice with different seats for the filler games. Again, with all plans, it's not like there is a scarcity of open seats in any section of the arena!

Want to bet on that? I said option, meaning they will allow you to move within the sections and the such. Having been a partial season ticket holder for years and dealing with these types of things before, they can be quite creative. However, it will be on you if you want to pursue it. If I tell them to get me into the arena for all the games I can with the money in my account for the rest of this season, they will happily figure it out. They would for you as well. Now if you are hung up on your seat and it is shared with another partial season ticket holder, there will be an issue obviously.

If money has been refunded to a person, it is completely outside of the scope of this conversation. This is only relevant for those that chose to leave their money in their account. I am not receiving a refund, therefore it's completely irrelevant to the conversation. I know my seats aren't shared, so I could burn up the dollars and they would be thrilled to allow me to do it.

No I don't and that is why I said they would likely give you an option to buy additional tickets.

I was just stating that with in your half season plan you are only going to get 12 games. You will get the option to buy more tickets at your STH rate as you always could do no matter the season, but that is going to be outside of your plan.

Also I forgot that he is in the ACA area so who know WTF they will do. I am basing my answer on the plan I have. Half Season with a PSL. So I will be entitled to my seats for half the games played at home no more and no less.

I don't think we are saying anything different. However, I think you would be surprised how little overlap there really is on partial season plans. That became more obvious based on the last couple of years and the way I did my game selections. I've had 3 partial season ticket locations and never had overlap, I could have changed it to full season with maybe issues in a small handful of games where they were sold for individual games. Two of those locations were isle seats.

All I was saying is that they will probably come to you and try and get you to use the money in what is left of the 2013 season (assuming there is one).

Agree. Also I really I am not surprised because from what I have seen they will bend over backwards to do what every you want them to do.

If any team wins the fans will be there... A 48 game season will be a boon for all 30 teams but the teams with a solid minor league program should excel... It will be a cheap cup for the winner but as many have said, a cup is a cup... The Jackets should be good based on what is going on in the minors, this could be an opportunity of a lifetime for the CBJ... they need to be ready.. I can't wait to see their defense.....and Johansen...

This is what I am hoping for. I'm also half season. But I live 2 hrs away from Nationwide and I just can not make many weeknight games since I get up before 6 am to go to work. I'm hoping I can just get as many Fri-Sat-Sun games as possible and nothing more.

Apparently one of the PAs big issues is number of games. I understand they want over 50 games so they can recover a greater portion of their paychecks.

Time appears short for that. Even a 48 game schedule through end of April will be very compressed. 14 weeks, 3.5 games a week to get to 48. Ifg they are wanting over 50 they should have settled sooner.

They should have thought about that earlier, say in the summer when the league wanted to start to negotiate. I have no sympathy for either side.

Welp, Twitter makes it sound like this is all but over.

Hope the panicky teenagers who freaked out after every bit of news and made any type of hockey social media or message board completely unreadable accept their defeat with grace and civility.
