NHLPA rumored to be willing to take a 65 mill cap in yr 2 while league is still at 60. Split the difference and lets get going.
My one question is...I have a half season. Say we get our 48 game season, so we'll have 24 home games. Do I get twelve of those? Do I get my normal 20? I wasn't here for the last lock out.
The last lock out ended up cancelling the season so there is nothing to base this on. My guess would be that you would get 12 games and be refunded the cost of the 10 games missed.
Personally I think they will make it an option for you. They would rather get you in the arena for 20 games instead of 12. Make the 2013-14 season as "clean" as possible from a finance standpoint, less lingering dollars out there.
Problem is that for most half season seats the other half is all ready sold to someone else. They may give you an option to buy additional tickets, but they can't give you your seat for more then 12 games.
Also keep in mind that money will have already been refunded to many people for the missed 10 games.
This is what happens when you're at work, you think of the last time we only had a 48 game season, instead of the last lock out, but that would make no sense since WE HAD NO TEAM. Anywho, the other person having my seat doesn't count since I'm in 228 with the ACA, we have the 20 some odd full season seats. So I guess if I had all 20 of my games, I would just end up buying the other 4 and going to a "full season".

Want to bet on that? I said option, meaning they will allow you to move within the sections and the such. Having been a partial season ticket holder for years and dealing with these types of things before, they can be quite creative. However, it will be on you if you want to pursue it. If I tell them to get me into the arena for all the games I can with the money in my account for the rest of this season, they will happily figure it out. They would for you as well. Now if you are hung up on your seat and it is shared with another partial season ticket holder, there will be an issue obviously.
If money has been refunded to a person, it is completely outside of the scope of this conversation. This is only relevant for those that chose to leave their money in their account. I am not receiving a refund, therefore it's completely irrelevant to the conversation. I know my seats aren't shared, so I could burn up the dollars and they would be thrilled to allow me to do it.
No I don't and that is why I said they would likely give you an option to buy additional tickets.
I don't think we are saying anything different. However, I think you would be surprised how little overlap there really is on partial season plans. That became more obvious based on the last couple of years and the way I did my game selections. I've had 3 partial season ticket locations and never had overlap, I could have changed it to full season with maybe issues in a small handful of games where they were sold for individual games. Two of those locations were isle seats.
All I was saying is that they will probably come to you and try and get you to use the money in what is left of the 2013 season (assuming there is one).
If they come to an agreement and we get a 48 game season, I guess the next real question is WILL THE FANS CARE?
The hardcore fans would show up to watch ice freeze. I'm talking about the average fans who OCCASIONALLY buy the tickets, occasionally buy the crap, buy the concessions, buy CI, and read the Dispatch.
I also wonder what our lovely HF here will be like. In the past, we cared too much. If we get a shortened season, and suck out of the gate, we'll probably just view it as a JOKE* year, and wait until next year to put our wretched hearts and overbearing arguments back into it.
Of course, even a JOKE* YEAR could be interesting.
(*"Joke" or "Developing the young guys" or "building team chemistry" ...however the front office decides to spin it.)

Apparently one of the PAs big issues is number of games. I understand they want over 50 games so they can recover a greater portion of their paychecks.

Welp, Twitter makes it sound like this is all but over.
Hope the panicky teenagers who freaked out after every bit of news and made any type of hockey social media or message board completely unreadable accept their defeat with grace and civility.
