Oh man are they obnoxious, but we tend to win more against them it seems. I just remember being in the arena, the CBJ pasting Buffalo, after all the drunken pre-game trash talk I endured from a trio of Sabres fans, and smiling as I hear the crowd erupt into a mocking chant of "Go home Buffalo!"

That was a fun game. Think it was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upCtGsVyIqc

On a slightly sad note, I just realized that none of the guys who scored the goals in this game are still with the team...

Who was that goaltender for CBJ? He actually seemed pretty good! :amazed:

Haha the first thing I thought was 'was that the Jurcina goal game'?

Not only that, Rick Nash would be singled out as the CAUSE for the CBJ's suckage all these years.

I think Cause of Suckage is too strong a phrase. Certainly, I can see Nash's departure as something that should signal a "Different Direction", and really, for an organization that has been very bad, in fact, statistically, among the worst professional sports team in terms of the Almighty "W" the past 12 years, any kind of seismic change shouldn't immediately be viewed as "More of the same"

Worst case scenario: Rick Nash's "Clout" in this city and within the organization hampered necessary changes, though no direct fault of his own, but rather, the way he was treated by the organization as a whole.

To be clear, *I* would not feel this way. I'm projected that a small percentage of people probably would.

You're absolutely right that the fault for this belongs squarely with the Organization.

At this point, I'm just praying for a full wipe of the season. CBJ didn't win the lottery last season and they had the worst record. At least we'd have a better kick at the can this time around than we would if some miracle happened and a new cba was reached, allowing the changes to the lottery system.

I just read that the NHL & the NHLPA are discussing a 20 team playoff. WTF? There weren't any details but there must be 8 teams playing a shortened 1st round to get to 16 for the real deal to start?

Re-alignment was supposed to be part of the new CBA. I wouldn't even bother thinking about playoff system until we understand what the league is going to look like.

Not me. And now that the holidays are over and I can focus on it, I think I will be having a chat with my Ticket Rep about a refund in the near future.

It seems that whatever comes out of this new CBA mess will work to the disadvantage of the CBJ. Or am I being paranoid.

I haven't seen much of anything to indicate there would be any type of disadvantage to the CBJ. Where are you coming up with that?

Have any STH that were on the monthly payment plan received any form of refund yet?

I haven't gotten a refund, except for my ASG money. They have been withdrawing less and less money from my account each month as the lockout has gone on. Nothing was taken in December.

What would be the main reason you want the CBJ to move to the east? Easier travel? Schedule? The quality of opponents?
Some people seem to thing just because your in the East, and the SouthEast it will be easier to win. How many more games/poitns would you expect them to have by just moving to the East?

I don't give a crap about the prospect of "easier" competition. However, it would help the team and the fan base out to not have as many 10:00 or 10:30 EST start times.

They stopped charging after 2/3 of the season was paid for.

Just heard back from my rep and the first round of refunds for payment plan half season holders will be going out in the next 10 days.

I think the main advantages are easier and less expensive travel as well as having most games in the Jackets home time zone. Right now the East is a bit easier I think, but over time that shifts.

Left my money there. Regardless of when it all sorts out, I'm happy to spend it on Columbus hockey, so if I'm paid for the rest of this year or ahead to next year, whatever.

This. The competition of it really means next to nothing to me. There are no easy points.

The Southeast is becoming a very competitive division, so I don't think it would make a huge difference in our standings versus the central - where teams like Detroit and Nashville should see significant drop-offs in their performance over last year. Florida stepped up big time, Carolina has some great pieces, Tampa Bay is only a few pieces from contending for the Cup, and Washington still has Alex Kirilenko and company. All of them are younger core teams.

I really like the time zone difference, and I really like the travel schedule. Just saving on traveling to the west coast multiple times per year makes up a huge loss in profit.
