If you don't think 5pts in 4gms "looks as good" as 103pts in 82gms then you're either fooling yourself or just can't math.
It's not about what I think, it's about you using pace after 4 games which is dumb as hell.

But keep going you guys and try to make fun of both analytics and the team's win loss record all at the same time.
They’ve won 2 games and lost 2 games, wow I’m so impressed.
You need to be more than 1 loss away from being below .500 to have a 103 point pace after 82 games in case you didn’t know.
interesting comment-along the lines of my opinion that the defence should be “menacing”, a place where forwards don’t want to go (and certainly our defence is far from this)Great thread topic .. JT Matty Mitch and Willy are just great guys .. really nice people .. none have a mean bone in their body .. none of them are cut da throat players .. to me this is what i see .. and you can't change people's personalities .. hockey has always been a game of survival of fittest .. sure it is changing but it is still a very competitive game where you have to take what you want .. this core does not have it .. it mimics Dubie .. like I have said it needs to be changed up by someone new who knows hockey .. and we need a stud D and G to come out of rebuild
Its starting to feel like the movie "Groundhog Day"; I realize its only 4 games in but I feel like its just a bad continuing sequel from the past few years-how we dominate, putting on a skating clinic, a puck possession marvel ( all the metrics support...
-Is it because of the coaching? My own opinion is no-I think Keefe has done a masterful job as the architect of the system that has led to the above dominance. I'm not sure what else he can do, he has been flexible in the past and he has been creative, such as loading up the offence in the last few moments of games, playing Marner on the penalty kill etc.
-Is it because of a lack of 'crease presence' ( i.e. too many pretty passes but with no bodies in front, it all leads to opponent goalies easily seeing the shots). This one has legs, but I don't watch enough other teams to know if this is unique to the Leaf's? I have read that many feel it is a lack of shooters, but I think not personally; Nylander and Matthews are known for their shots.
-Is it because opponents come to our rink instructed to 'collapse around their net' in the face of our offense ( or our supposed offense this year so far); thereby creating an impenetrable barrier, and, as a natural byproduct, making the goalie look other-worldly?
......
An early playoff exit and no changes I’d expect. What do you guys realistically expect for this Leafs team this season?
Myself, I think the following.
1) probably make the playoffs
2) get bounced first round or second round
I believe the Leafs play to the level of their competition.

They are going to make the playoffs, bc they are actually not scoring and whenever there are teams who can’t score, they are label build for playoffs.I honestly don't think they will make the playoffs.
Awful optimistic. Lightning, Panthers, Bruins all better and will finish ahead. They are going to make the playoffs, bc they are actually not scoring and whenever there are teams who can’t score, they are label build for playoffs.
The current Leafs is build for playoffs.
Honestly, I have no doubt they will make the playoffs.
