Have the writers on the show touched on whether they'll stick to the chapters of the video game in this first season, or will they fill in some of the gaps? Because there are some pretty significant gaps in the story time wise, mainly the jumps from Boston/Lincoln to Pittsburgh and then from Pittsburgh to Wyoming.

This episode is pretty terrifying so far.

The way they go into detail about how the virus spread, last episode and then this one, is extremely disturbing, but needed. Sets up story. It's very stark to see normal times in 2003 when this started to spread.

Holy f*** that episode was good. Neil Druckmann nailed his TV/film directorial debut. Amazing

The behind the scenes interview at the end provides more context on how they made the clickers as well as small details they changed from the game (i.e. the spores in the air spread the fungus in the game, not so much in the tv show)

Loved it. Think the casting of the main characters thus far is perfect.

Ellie, Joel, Tess. All great.

As far as I know, the first season is the entire first game.

I'm hoping it they do a second season, that it's not the second game and fills in time in-between.

So just on the science of this stuff, the fungus only affects humans and not animals?

I am still hoping they ignore the second game entirely.

Another solid episode.

It's interesting to see the differences between the game and the show and how they handle different events.

The death of Tess for instance. Her game death is quite different, but not as dramatic for TV
