Bad loss for team as he was providing much needed open ice for JT/Willy with his puck strength and physical play .. we don't have another skilled top 6 player with those skills up front .. lets hope McMann can up his game

No problem at all. He will be nicely rested for the playoffs. They don't need him to win regular season games anyway.

Willing to bet LTIR. Might allow us to avoid making other difficult decisions.
There will still be roster decisions to be made when Hakanpää finishes his conditioning stint. My guess is that they'll waive Benning at that point.

When Jarnkrok comes off LTIR, they'll also need to make room for him - so a forward will need to come off the roster at that point through trade or waivers (this is assuming that no one else gets injured).

When Minton comes off LTIR, he'll probably go to the Marlies.

With Jarnkrok, I'd rather they keep giving Robertson ice time and dump Jarn. Not like either one would be useful in the playoffs, but Jarnkrok makes more money. I don't see the fascination with him.

Minten is already off LTIR and with the Marlies. I believe he played this weekend.

But yes, at this point, Pacioretty's injury; which is presumably going to be at least enough to put him on regular / 10-day IR, will solve the Leafs roster issues for the timebeing.

Matthews replaces Pacioretty.

Hakanpaa -- I recall reading the possibility of sending Myers on a conditioning stint to buy a little more time for them to shop Benning. Barring that, Benning goes on waivers and either ends up claimed (and the Leafs free of his cap hit for this year and next), or becomes additional injury depth.

I think they are going to play with roster configurations,

I think they are going to play with roster configurations, IR, conditioning stints and maybe having Myers, Benning and eve Reaves on waivers if need be. I don't think there is a risk of losing Reaves, but they might not want to do that to him.

I think their goal is to keep the "roster" at 26 or 27 all year this way. I also think Jarnkrok could be out for a while and we may slow play brining him back to give us additional flexibility.

This might be a strategy to not waist draft capital on depth d-men and forwards (goalies too) at the TDL.

Minten is already back and playing with the Marlies.

I was against signing Patches in training camp. Now I'm hoping he won't be out too long.

Guy looked really good so far.

I wonder if he'll be on LTIR for the season?

Off to the Island. Robidas.

This is the most bizarre injury and situation.

He played 1 pre-season game, finished the game and then hasn't been seen since other than at a pratice or two. Could be someone they push to be on LTIR for the season.

Not sure I've seen a hernia be that severe though so maybe there's something else wrong.

Has anyone actually seen him?

New York where they bury the evidence.

Probably won't be healthy until the playoffs. VGK do Stone, Leafs due Jarnkrok? Priorities seem wrong.
