12 years ago the Bruins wanted Nicklas Bäckström in the 2006 Draft and offered Washington a lot to move up but the Caps didn't bite. The Bruins then selected Phil Kessel. Talk about a what if.................

My formative years were the '70s. In Detroit. Dead Wings v. dynasty.

I have no quibble. Always respected MTL as a club. Media and fans, not so much.

Still feel that way today. It's like the Yankees or Patriots. You hate them largely because they're so damn good.

PS I did go down to the penalty box at the old Olympia to curse (politely) the Flower in '78/'79.
