Seth Jones trade revisited...

Chicago received
Seth Jones
2021 1st(Nolan Allan)
2022 6th(Dominic James)

Columbus received
Adam Boqvist
2021 1st(Cole Sillinger)
2021 2nd(traded to Carolina for Jake Bean)
2022 1st(David Jiricek)

SJones has been the big minutes defenceman promised, he’s produced nice offensive numbers with of course that VERY minus +/-
NAllan signed last year and after having won a Gold Medal at world jrs is now having a productive junior season, was captain at Prince Albert before being dealt to a locked and loaded Seattle team
DJames is the captain at UMD and by all accounts is having a great season this far

Three great pieces
lol don't try to defend that trade.

Jiricek is better than every piece involved in that trade.

Columbus won. By far.

Brandon Hagel trade revisited...

Chicago received
Taylor Raddysh
Boris Katchouk
Cond. 2022 1st(top ten protected)
Cond. 2023 1st(top ten protected)

Tampa Bay received
Brandon Hagel
2022 4th(Kenny Conners)
2024 4th

TRaddysh, while inconsistant, he can score, a twenty goal scorer which is rare for this club, proven to be an NHLer

BKatchouk, depth role player which the Hawks have a few of, seems to respond to healthy scratches which is promising, still trying to cement his NHL permanence, reminds me of JHayden, a tweener

So far the 2023 1st is bouncing between 26-27th overall so looking like a Gavin Brindley or Quintin Musty type pick

2024 hoping TB ‘finally’ bottoms out making it an 11-16 pick or bumping to an unprotected 2025 pick

Boqvist has been a disappointment in Columbus and so has Sillinger after making it to the NHL at 18.

But Jiricek is a top 5 prospect in the NHL right now and he should've been ours. Instead we get to pay Seth Jones 9 mil a year for however long we have left on that contract.

We flat out lost that trade. Maybe it would've been even if we were a bubble team last year, but we definitely weren't.

Cat w a goal and two assists against Blues so far in 3rd. BJs play Yotes tonight, hope they can get a win.
Yotes played a late game against LA last night (start time was 9:30 CT if I recall seeing) and that game got decided in a shootout. Hopefully they are running on fumes and Jackets get an easy opponent.

Only because he's made of glass. When healthy he has 36 points in 76 games so far with them playing on the 3rd pairing. IMO he can still become a good player in the NHL.

Agreed with the rest of your post, the Hawks had no business making that trade.

Jiricek alone is worth far more than the sum of everything we got in return. There’s no putting lipstick on that pig. The trade was an unmitigated disaster.

Damn, feels weird talking about Kane in this thread....

But speaking about Kane, looks like Cat has taken a pretty big step back in his first season without him... might not even hit 25 goals..
