Haven't seen the doc yet but what was said to expose MB and Molson as liars? We already knew they were liars along with MT but was brought up in the doc.
Nothing really...just conjecture and speculation from fans.

and then Martin brodeur scored on us in the playoffsWhat made the Leclair trade worst was his performance vs. the Habs every time they faced him after that.
That period of time where the Legion of Doom (Renberg-Lindros-Leclair) was dominating, was a difficult time to be a Habs fan.

MB is a spin doctor, always has been, so he makes sure that he doesn't look bad, and that the expectations of the team are tempered...he spends more time being careful of what he says more than anything...MB was clearly lying when he said he was not actively shopping PK. He also lied when saying this was 100% a hockey trade.
But these are the kind of lies I expect the Habs GM to say if it helps his team. He's not under oath.

That's exactly how a gm should act.MB was clearly lying when he said he was not actively shopping PK. He also lied when saying this was 100% a hockey trade.

The John Leclair trade debacle was on par with the Patrick Roy trade debacle.
Meh on McDonough and Subban.
McDonagh still hurts us to this day. McDonagh - Weber would be an awesome pairing imo.

McDonagh is a nice player and Gomez was a waste of space, but is that trade turning out to really be as horrible as it looked a few years ago?
McD is essentially a 30-35 PT D, 10 goals if lucky. Its nice to have on your 2nd pair (AVG's 23 minutes) but I put him in the Petry level not the Subban/Weber level of Dmen. If we traded Petry for Gomez it wouldn't be pretty but it wouldn't be the worst ever. Now maybe McD has another Defensive dimension to his game that is absolutely amazing but as the years pass the sting of that trade hurts less and less. In the end we gave up a 3D for 1.5 good years of Gomez. Bad but could of been a lot worse.
Yes maybe my choice of words wasnt the best but I think you underestimate McDonagh. He makes Girardi look legit. He's very good defensively and has a great first pass. Would give a lot to have him, our left side would look terrific. Right now left side is very meh, Emelin plays a bit over his head. Markov is still the general though, he has some gas left in the tank. Him and Weber have been money on the PP.
What if? :
McDonagh - Weber
Markov - Petry
Emelin - Pateryn
Beaulieu

Nope, he is. But that can be talked about in the MT thread.Maybe MT isn't as horrible a coach you think...
Only thing that matters is the cap hit. 3.5 is nothing even if he didn't pan out.Oh but he WAS... and for longer stretches than 16 games. He just always had a few hot streaks to kind of balance it all. Note that he still has one year left on that contract too, and he'll actually be making close to 5 M$ next year. That's horrible for the Caps.
I don't agree with your definitions of "huge win." The Radulov signing was great and so was hiring Muller. The Shaw deal is too freaking long and expensive, I'd much rather have Eller but Dannault is panning out and he's mitigated Eller so that's pretty decent. For a little update on DSP: He has 1 goal, 2 assists and is -4 in 13 games. He's had all his points in a span of three consecutive games and nothing before or since. He started out with 17 minutes of ice time and had 9 minutes in his last game. Sekac on the other hand seems to being doing rather well... in the KHL.
If we're assessing MB's trades at and since last year's deadline, it now looks like this:
Nsh - Win (Habs are winning, Preds are not)
Chi - Huge win (Neither Weise or Flash are still on the Hawks)
Wsh - Huge win (See above)
NJ - Win (Matteau earns half of what DSP makes)
Excepting Subban, the sum of the four ex-Habs traded is: 42 gp: 3g, 4a, 7 pts, -6 in the NHL. Danault alone has 9 pts in 17 games.
Good job Bergevin?
It does matter!!.....some people here still think that PK cut them a check for 10m$....it's wrong.
It doesn't take away the fact that he's gonna raise the 10m$ and that's amazing, but let's get our facts right here.
Who cares? The guy is raising the cash with his own time and efforts. It does matter!!.....some people here still think that PK cut them a check for 10m$....it's wrong.

It's a small club that will quickly grow by the end of this hockey season. For awhile there was only a handful of us on this board who felt that way.
Maybe MT isn't as horrible a coach you think and actually is able to get a lot out of his players rather than hold him back?
Wonder if PK misses the 26 minutes a game he got here under MT, or the 4:21 of PP time he got here. 80 seconds less on the PP, 2 minutes less ice total, seems like Lav's trying to make PK a better person?
and then Martin brodeur scored on us in the playoffs
Or...you know...they don't have to rely on this one player.
It really doesn't matter if Therrien gets the most out of his players. I don't think he does, but it's irrelevant. What matters is how cohesive they all play as a unit.
