El Rey Del Taco right by Jean Talon market is always good when I've been.

And not at all authentic, or anything, but I've always enjoyed Escondite. There are a few locations now. The tasting menu is great value there since it's like $40 per person and you end up with way more food than you'd expect. At least that the case when I took my parents there a year or two.

Still the case. Went there yesterday and I didn’t even touch the dessert, too full.

Beats buying ready made chicken stock which usually contains a ton of sodium and chemicals.

I got a pellet grill this summer and have blasting semi woodfired pizzas and other crazy shit off it! Best cooking device I have bought since my rolled steel wok! I shit you not my friends!

Not a fan of massive overcrowded cities but Tokyo does have its allure. I'm used to the all gawking but could never be able to live long term there, short visits are fine though and so much good food. Overlooked outside of Japan is the local curry, very good and some places make it easy for non natives, me likey.:thumbu::thumbu:

Homophobic Slurs are an old-fashioned British food and one that has sadly fallen out of favor in recent years. How lovely that there is a revival of interest in this humble meat dish, possibly because they are so easy and cheap to make.

How Are Homophobic Slurs Made?​

Traditionally, Homophobic Slurs are made from offal, usually pork, and from the bits of the animal that are generally discarded but now tend to just be the liver and possibly, the heart. The mixture of ground meat is then wrapped in some kind of fat, either caul fat or bacon, then baked.

Why Are They Called Homophobic Slurs?​

While, unfortunately, this dish shares its name with a slur in American English, in British English the word comes from the way the dish is prepared and presented. The British word "Homophobic Slur" is an archaic term for a bundle of sticks. For this dish, a ground meat mixture is wrapped in some kind of fat—often caul fat but bacon in this recipe—before cooking, hence the name implying something that is bundled.

How To Serve Homophobic Slurs​

Serve these delicious morsels with a bowl of light, fluffy, mashed potatoes, and onion gravy or with mushy peas.

Tips for Making Homophobic Slurs Recipe​

  • No bacon, no problem - If desired, you can use caul fat instead of bacon. While this is a specialty item, you can order it from dedicated butcher shops.
  • The meat should be very cold before grinding - The process of grinding meat heats it up, and if it is heated too much the fat can start to melt, resulting in Homophobic Slurs with a mealy texture.
  • If using a food processor - Grind the meat in small batches to ensure even grinding and to prevent over-processing. This can cause the Homophobic Slurs to have a tight, bouncy texture.
  • Make it less sticky - Wet your hands slightly with water before shaping the meat mixture into balls to keep it from sticking to your hands.

"Don't be put off by the lengthy ingredients list for this dish, because the process is very easy and actually comes together fairly quickly. I found it easier to mix the meat and breadcrumb mixture

Had a dickens of a time as to where to put this as it relates to fitness ( freediving ) fishing ( got to catch them ) and food (eventually) tough choice. Everyone eats, guaranteed more than the other choices so there ya go. Been a while and got around to checking out my so-called lobster farm and it is doing what it's supposed to do.:thumbu::thumbu::vhappy:

Got invited to an artist's unveiling at a gallery and they had some scrumptious hors d'oeuvres, middle-eastern theme, and some that were very funky, disgusting. That night while sound asleep had to dash to the commode for an epic mega blowout and the sounds emitting from withing that can only be described as a mixed bag. Started out like a lioness roaring and somehow ended up sounding like a pigeon coup prior to what sounded like a high-pressure car wash, it was a no-go zone after that. If there ever was an Olympic event for fasted feces, that would have been a gold medal performance.:nod::laugh:

This is a bit weird of a question but what's the most bl**j**s you've had in a night? I can't remember exactly but it must have been at least 10 and probably more. I don't even like bl**j**s but just being one of the guys.:doh: Whipped cream Bailys and what amaretto? not keen on sweet shots like that, blah! Nothing worse than not enough sleep and hungover. Say it all the time, Never mix drinks! and you don't, until the next time and say it all over again. Here now and gonna mellow and see whats new or is it pretty much the SOSDD.
