Maybe just with water and ice would be better? just from anise flavor of spirits, can't think anything really mixes well with it.Drink my share of ouzo and can't see it mixing well with anything aside from water and ice or just plain neat.
Pretty much the only thing I use absinthe for is in a Sazerac.

Never heard of it,had to search it, a little labor intensive for me,sounds good though. I'm fine with a bottle in a plain paper bag.
Haha, it's not too hard. This is what I do:

- add a tiny bit of absinthe to a rocks glass. Swirl it around so it coats all of the glass, and then toss the absinthe at the bottom of the glass (drink it, obviously)
- in a separate glass add either a sugar cube / 1/2 teaspoon of sugar / half an ounce of simple syrup and 2-3 dashes of Peychaud's bitters
- Optionally add 1 dash of Angostura bitters
- Add a few ice cubes, and pour 2 ounces of rye or cognac, and stir until chilled
- Strain into the glass with the absinthe rinse. Garnish with a lemon peel (it actually adds a lot to the drink)

I guess now that I type it up, it's more than a lot of people want to do to enjoy a drink, but as far as cocktails go, it's pretty basic, and very good! if you don't want to make it, I'd recommend ordering one from a halfway decent cocktail bar. They're quite nice!

I'll try it when I can get to a place that might make it,chances are I'll forget the name of the drink though.
Sazerac, have to write it and say it to remember it.

If sambal oelek does that to you (unless yours is way spicier than the one I have), do not try these ramen noodles:

I've had mostly Japanese ramen and my share of Korean food but there has been nothing remotely hot in either cuisine in comparison. I can eat hot,not as much as yesteryear, but still dabble with the heat from time to time. Was a time when I frequently ate vindalloo and one time a staff member of Indian heritage in his accent inquired''who the hell is eating that?'' It was bloody hot and hotter on exiting if you catch my drift.:laugh:

Should make it often enough it's so good, but takes time to make Pastitsio. Not much on pairing wine with foods, but the Rose my friend makes and gave me goes great! What it also goes great with is more and more:thumbu::laugh:

Got in trouble while visiting Greece, Rhodes, with Ouzo. Was the real stuff... nothing too bad. Just drunk and stoned out of my mind. Apparently, there is more than alcohol in the real stuff. The military decided to label it an “unfortunate cultural exchange”. It was wonderful lmao

Sure it was't the ''moonshine''? essentially that is what some my buddies make, tasted like ouzo but can turn a mild mannered man into a raving lunatic.

I've bought around a dozen of cans of Polish-made soup about a week ago. Basically add a glass of water to the contents of each can and simmer until heated up. Surprised how good these are. I've mushroom, cabbage, sorrel, etc.

Had a bit of a Korean kick recently and made something from there for 5 dinners in a row last week:

Started with kalbi.

Next night was Korean fried chicken, deep fried.

Then another night of Korean fried chicken but done in the air fryer. It was not bad, but the deep fried one was preferred.

Next up was Pork Bone Soup, or gamjatang.
DDB6B819-4F08-4BB0-89B4-091554EF99A7.jpeg

And finished off with a Korean beef brisket stew.

Tools used during the week: Air fryer, regular wok with oil for deep fry, grill and an Instant Pot.

I had high hopes for these after seeing people on reddit post about them a ton. They've got some heat, but they don't taste very good, IMO.
