I got a Hot air fryer recently and it's an amazing appliance. I just made pork tenderloin strips, rubbed with a mixture of olive oil and spices. 10 minutes @ 375 F. Melts in your mouth, and I wont even begin about fries.![]()
It's an oven, yes and no. The big difference is the air flow. and it cooks real fast. Warms up to 400F. in two minutes. Capacity is smaller, but a good sized meal is still doable. I've done chicken legs, hot sausages, fish and chips(exceptionally good), pork tenderloin and chops, perogies. It's also good at rewarming evenly and you can use it as a dehydrator. I tried jerky but left it a bit too long, still good, I'm actually chewing on a piece right now. Haven't seen any smoke either, I guess the wind blows it away.

Thanks for asking, yes it's getting better but still throbs and I have no strength in it at all. I was lucky not to have broken it.
I've gotten into making sourdough bread over the last few weeks. A labour of love, but very satisfying when you get it right. This one's an 'everything' blend with garlic/onion/poppy/sesame:

I'm no Martha Stewart but I'm sure she would even approve. Love the salt and pepper color scheme with matching urinal receptacle device.

haha. thank you kindly.
It's a pinch pot for salt but I suppose i do see the urinal element there. might have to go give it a wash now that you've planted that thought in my head
Thanks! sorry but I had to laugh when I clicked on the link and saw ''Ninja'' stuff like that always irks my mrs,she hates it when people give products Japanese connotations if you know what I mean.
It does sound like a good product though and appreciate if and when you come up with some other good items worth sharing.
Glad to hear you're coming along. Doing any sort of rehab? considered doing some acupuncture?
It's not something I ever thought of buying, but I've been trying all kinds of stuff in it. Frozen egg rolls for lunch earlier. Pre-heat 2 minutes to 390F . Cook 5 minutes, flip them over, three minutes and done. Slightly crunchy with the insides hot but not burning hot. Maybe better at 375F. and an extra few minutes. I forgot to brush them with a little oil. Try that in a regular oven.
Not food related but, you like listening to music with headphones? I splurged on the top of the line Sony'

I'm speechless, they're as good as they claim . Frequency response? A ridiculous 4hz to 40,000hz. You know the feeling you get in your stomach when you hear loud bass in a bar? These headphones actually do it. I've heard bass notes I never knew existed. Magic, worth every penny.
Funny you should mention acupuncture. Here's a funny but painful event I just experienced. I'm a fan of cacti, and I was holding on to a large "bunny ears" Opuntia with an old pair of gloves while repotting it. You don't want to get near those spines bare handed. That was last summer and I just tossed the gloves back in the drawer. I had to go outside earlier and without thinking, I grabbed the wrong gloves and just as I stuck my hand into the left one, I went: Oh f***!![]()
How do you guys prep meatballs for tomato sauce? Like this?

Do you add milk? Something else?
Some people make them do dry. I’m looking for a moist result.
I’ve been enjoying frozen peas lately by adapting a recipe I found online. Doesn’t take very long to prep and it’s so tasty:
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¾ chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 pound frozen peas or fresh peas equivalent
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Leftover peas taste great. Bought a big bag of bio frozen peas from Costco.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large lidded skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic until onion is translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Add the sliced mushrooms and continue to saute until the mushrooms release some of their liquid and they start to lightly brown and become fragrant. Add peas, salt and pepper. Cover the pan with lid and cook until peas are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Serve immediately or keep warm on very low heat until ready to serve.
What I also like about this, is that it uses ingredients that are readily available and you don’t need to thaw the peas.

I found a good tip against dryness, pour milk in the crumbs ad then add the soaked crumbs in the meat, it helps with moistureHow do you guys prep meatballs for tomato sauce? Like this?

I either soak the breadcrumbs/panko in milk or add ricotta. Hope you’re doing well @Runner77
Stuff we already knew but good to be reminded of.
I’ll try not to be, I was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year so things have been a bit busy. I’m good though, had a lumpectomy and recovering from surgery now, I start radiation next week, luckily a test proved that chemo wouldn’t be beneficial for me so I get to keep my pandemic hairSo good to read you @CalgarySnow !
