I remember seeing somewhere that Kenilworth Road, doesn't currently meet the PL stadium criteria?

Luton probably doesn't have the resources to stay up anyway. If Sunderland makes it, would be interesting to see if they invest heavily like Nottingham to stay up.
I believe they should have a new stadium in the next couple seasons (if not next year; the best I can find is opening in 2024). I'm not sure why it wouldn't be up to requirements though.

What I read was that they currently aren't up to grade with VAR and broadcasting. Will cost close to 20M to put that infrastructure in place, which I believe the premier league will front. It'll stink because that money won't go into the squad but it wasn't like they were gonna spend big anyways. Also there supposed to be building a new stadium in the next few years so 20M to improve a stadium that won't be there in a few years is another waste. But I prefer them up for the new blood and underdog story even if they only have 1 season up.

I doubt Sunderland spends big if they go up. They have a big stadium and were getting big crowds but they were in League 1 last season, their finances can't be up to par to spend yet. They've also been smart in the transfer market and spending wisely on young talent who they are relying on. If Everton were relegated then I can see them possibly making a move for Pickford. I doubt Liverpool will sell Henderson and I'm sure he doesn't want to go back just yet but those would be 2 signings they should try to make. Also bring Diallo back on loan.

It's likely a lot of the teams who haven't been in the prem for 20ish years wouldn't meet it. The City Ground didn't meet it and had to have a bunch of work done over the summer to get it up to standard

in League One, 3rd place Sheffield Wednesday got curb stomped by 6th place Peterborough 4-0 in the 1st leg of their playoff matchup

Notts County rescue themselves again, needed a late goal against Chesterfield at Wembley to now force ET

Bolton and Barnsley played a 1:1 draw in their League One semi

Notts County with another absurd win in the National League playoff final, tying the game twice including an 87th minute goal and eventually winning on penalties with the same guy (Scott) who got stopped by Foster at the end of the Wrexham game getting the winning kick here. You really can’t make this stuff up.

Barnley (4) 1
Bolton (5) 1

League Two
Stockport County (4) 0

none of the teams who finished higher in the league won in the first leg. intriguing

I'm not terribly unconvinced Diallo isn't already the 2-3 best winger on United.

He needs another loan, he isn't ready for United unless they just want someone to play Cup games and come off the bench the last 10 minutes. Not sure which league but he's not ready to play regularly for United, he will have glimpses but at that level he isn't consistent enough. Would be best if he could go to a mid table premier league team to get used to the league like a Brentford or Wolves but not sure either is looking for a loan winger as they have set RW already.

Didn’t care who this playoff but out of the four teams I honestly wanted to see Sunderland go out, always enjoyed those northeast derbies and they seemed to have a decent young side playing good football (though who knows how many those guys they would have kept). Coventry were an EPL standard when I got old enough to follow Euro football (mid-90s), had the likes of Robbie Keane. Though generally I like seeing new faces, though not sure either will be able to really compete in the EPL

6 minutes of extra time and Wednesday are allowed to score in the 7:30 minute mark of extra time

They tie it in the 98th minute!!!!!!!!

Peterborough turn off fans were singing “we are going up we are going up!!!!!!”

Game should have been over. Going to 7 minutes is one thing but nearly 8 when you put up 6?

Peterborough totally bottled it though, they were not like the team from the first leg and were just allowing Wednesday to do what they wanted and not even trying to play any kind of football.
