Sounds like there is lots of loss and hardship being experienced lately. Condolences and best wishes to all affected. Life can be hard or outright cruel sometimes. Appreciate the good times and good friends/family while you can. Those opportunities can be all too fleeting.

Comforting Blessings to all who have lost loved ones....

FYI - tomorrow is Vivien Leigh day on TCM.... starting at 8am with Vivien Leigh: Scarlet and Beyond and ending with GWTW at 8pm. More movies Saturday....going to be a good movie and specials celebration....

Thank you both, I had no idea how hard it is - I hadn't lost anyone close until this year and I lost two aunts and my beautiful mother in a matter of months. This is my Mom when she was 17 - my brother saw some pics like this and said "she was a beautiful woman, I never realized". She was a beauty inside and out and I miss her so very much.

I like people watching too....there was a large percentage of like jr high to high school groups of girls....like 3-5 each group....very few boys .....weird dynamic

4H milkshakes of course

some of those rides....i can't imagine...there was an army helicopter looking ride that just goes up and then it spins in circle....hell no

also the atm would let you log in and get all the way to part of dispensing money...then no connection....guess it was all of them as a lot of people were commenting on it

the wildlife exhibit is the same every year....i think the taxidermist died in 1950 since all the mounts look that old...the stuffed racoon looks like he has a bad case of mange

overall it was as expected, we stayed away from the kiddie ride area, and the rides in general, just going through the barns, exhibits and the household goods....i was going to say the adult section , but that didn't sound right ....

What sucked is my wife tore ACL earlier this year and had surgery, and I got my 2d cortisone shot in my foot yesterday....it was an exciting night after walking for hours to come home with her on the couch with her knee wrapped up in ice, and me on the other couch with ice bag around my foot....

I literally feel your pain. I went to the Brooklyn Fair (oldest running agricultural fair in America, look it up) last night. I haven't been diligent about walking this year and boy I paid for that when I got home, not just my legs but my back hurt like hell. Clearly a warning I need to get back out there.

I always go the first night- the exhibits are all fresh & there is an excitement about opening night in the air. Only problem with first night is that is when the animal judging takes place so you have to wait until that's done before you are allowed into the barns, but if you plan it right you can see other things while you're waiting. I always watch the axe throwing & other lumber contests and I enjoy the exhibits. I stay away from the "Better Living" building because there's just so much crap for sale there.

And then there's the food: 🌭🥨🍟🍦🥤

I’m so glad I got the adjustable base for my new bed. It has a zero gravity setting and for the first time in a long time I was pain free.

The real test is how well I sleep tonight. I’ve been going all day and cleaned for most of it so I’m going to pass out real soon.

I'm desperately in need of a new mattress, although I don't really want to spend the money on it and I hate shopping for them

What kind did you get, if I may ask?

Just arrived back home.

Had my wisdom teeth out, drove myself down to Florida, spent a week in Disney with the kids and then drove myself back home. I am exhausted, physically, mentally, and financially. Worth it.

Got to meet the mouses. Spent hundreds on stuffed animals. Did almost every ride imaginable. Discovered that one of my 7 year olds is a thrill seeker. He did all the Star Wars rides and giggled through it all, flew the Millenium Falcon, had his hands up squealing whipping around curves on Slinky Dog, and said he loved the Avatar ride that made the other 2 kids cry.

More details and pics to come on Facebook I’m sure.

I got the Sleep Number c4 with adjustable base. It’s pricey but monthly payments are affordable. If you already have a bed grime you can use that and just get the mattress.

Scared the bejesus out of me and 2 out of 3 kids. I’m iffy with simulators so I have a few tricks to get through it. Nothing worked here. The swooping was so much more than any other simulator I’ve been on. The immersion and the visuals were unbelievable indeed. I would like to ride again while not consoling two crying children

So… I said goodbye to my Taylor Hall #71 t-shirt tonight.

My dog Finnegan in his excitement to see me whenever I come home or enter a room jumps and nibbles at me, and has destroyed my Hall shirt. The hem of the shirt had no fewer than five large tears in it.

We are doing our best to train Finnegan and correct his behavior, but we believe there are some underlying issues. We think he was taken away from his mother too soon, and his emotional growth has been stunted. Essentially, he’s still a baby and acts as such even at over 18 months and 80 lbs.

I wasn’t sure whether to put this in the pet thread; or the Taylor Hall thread, so I’m just going to put this here.

Sounds like an awesomely loving and loyal dog though!
