@Aussie Bruin

St Pierre was enjoyable. but quirky

The Euro is the currency but merchants took the USD at par - Using Canadian currency was frowned upon.

License plates are EU style

This was the US news report that piqued my interest

and a similar report on CTV

French overseas territories always seem to retain very strong links to the motherland, so they can be really interesting and distinct places that are both very French and very something else at the same time. You get this in British territories too but the French ones always seem to turn out that little bit more unique. Like using the Euro way out off the coast of Newfoundland probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but France is France so that's the currency they have. Quirky is the right word.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Sorry for your loss Mione.
Lovely tribute - What a lively aunt you had:
“She paid no mind and could not be contained; she was having too much fun.”
That was her in a nutshell. I was fine in the church because it was a celebration of her life which is what she wanted. And to be cremated. I also had my neice on my lap so I could be distracted. It wasn't until the cemetery and I walked up to say goodbye that I lost it. This pandemic has ruined so many relationships. I didn't see her for 3 years. Finally a week before she passed, we made plans to see each other.

Just sucks that I feel like time was ripped from me.

so very sorry for your loss.

This pandemic has been awful, we haven`t seen my son for almost 3 years, were trying to fly him out in September but now the price of flying him here, at this time with me being on a reduced work schedule is simply impossible so while the pandemic isn`t directly to blame, the collateral damage done with the cost of everything through the roof simply makes it impossible

The MA RMV and MBTA are vying for the state's most incompetent department.

The RMV was notified in May that I had a new insurance carrier yet my old one appears on my registration renewal documents that were mailed to me last week.

I can still renew but now I'm left calling both carriers to find out who dropped the ball

Appreciate it. ❤️

I love fair season- the animals, the displays, the food (especially the food!)
The animals are a treat....wife is a vet so guess the first place we headed....

Also took in the pig races..

Fair food as expected....lemonade stands everywhere

On of our main reasons for going was to get an engraved sign for the new house in Maine (2025)
Well none of those guys at the fair this year....ordered one on Etsy

We did the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair a week and a half ago, after being out of town for the Greene County fair. My son loved seeing the cows and horses. We missed the pig races but saw the tractor pull. Lots of cool rides for the 3.5 year old, not a lot going on for the 1.5 year old, outside petting some of the animals. But I love these fairs.

Bermuda on the other hand uses the Bermuda dollar which is par with the USD

St Pierre TV has very few channels in English - oddly the US channels are from Boston

I like people watching too....there was a large percentage of like jr high to high school groups of girls....like 3-5 each group....very few boys .....weird dynamic

4H milkshakes of course

some of those rides....i can't imagine...there was an army helicopter looking ride that just goes up and then it spins in circle....hell no

also the atm would let you log in and get all the way to part of dispensing money...then no connection....guess it was all of them as a lot of people were commenting on it

the wildlife exhibit is the same every year....i think the taxidermist died in 1950 since all the mounts look that old...the stuffed racoon looks like he has a bad case of mange

overall it was as expected, we stayed away from the kiddie ride area, and the rides in general, just going through the barns, exhibits and the household goods....i was going to say the adult section , but that didn't sound right ....

What sucked is my wife tore ACL earlier this year and had surgery, and I got my 2d cortisone shot in my foot yesterday....it was an exciting night after walking for hours to come home with her on the couch with her knee wrapped up in ice, and me on the other couch with ice bag around my foot....

Bill Burr is a funny MFer.

I may have been the only one who cheered when he referred to his B’s jacket in PA though.

So apparently kindergarten in Taiwan is a blanket word for any kid under 6 because there are 4 levels of kindergarten in the school that I teach. There's yoyo which are a bunch of 2-3 year olds, small class which are 3-4 year olds, medium class which is 4-5 year olds, and big class which is mainly 5 and a couple of 6 year olds. Let me tell you, there's nothing more difficult than trying to hold the attention of a two year old so they can learn english when it isn't their native language.
