I have a small mouth and had crooked teeth, so mostly for orthodontic reasons
Makes sense. I have all of my wisdom teeth (not that it's helped me at all, as I'm still not very bright) and my litmus test for a dentist is if they see them and say we need to remove them, despite me having zero issues with them. If a dentist I'm seeing says that, I find a new dentist. Sadly, more often than not, they try to get me to have them pulled, and it seems needless and like a scam to me. If they started giving me issues, I'd have no problem pulling them, but I won't consider it until then.

I haven't eaten anything since around 7 pm Saturday night thanks to this procedure.

I currently want the world's largest cheeseburger lol

I think I understand the term "hangry" now 😂

After my colonoscopy my sister took me to the 99 and I scarfed down the biggest beef burger on the menu in record time :biglaugh:

I only had to have one pulled, it was impacted. My dentist said no point removing the others if they're not bothering you. I still have them.

Walking in now for wisdom teeth removal. All 4, plus a weird extra scrap of something.

Nervous. Very nervous.
Enjoy the drugs.

Clove oil will help on your gums and cheeks if you have residual pain.

I was bruised for quite a while.

They charged me like $500 just to pull an effin tooth. I was having unbearable pain for a week, but $500 is a bit ridiculous. Took the guy about 15 minutes for the whole procedure. What a joke. My insurance is good too.

I'm going to sensor myself here so I don't go on a rant.

The only time I have trouble with my teeth, is when I've had a cleaning. every time, something happens.

Overtreatment is rampant in the industry.
I have had 2 teeth pulled and refused implants.
They get money by making you afraid. high volume, high cost=$$

He stayed on the force until a few years ago when he became the police commissioner in Ann Arbor.

I vaguely remember what happened to him but I do remember it came a few years after John Mulligan was murdered and during a time where corruption was being uncovered.

The documentary, Trial 4 on Sean Ellis was very well done and eye opening
I remember it all well,my girlfriend at the time was a Boston cop,now a detective working with the FBI. They all knew Mulligan and Ramirez and Billy Cantin and others were scum.

Thanks for the well wishes all. This morning was a cake walk. They sat me down, Doc said “ok now Charles…” and I cut him off and said woah woah woah, my name is Dave

Sense of humor check!

IV and a nose thing, and immediately I felt wobbly. I asked if i was already supposed to feel dizzy, they said yes. Then I woke up in a different bed of the recovery room with no idea how I got there, and gauze plugging my mouth.

My face was wildly numb for another 2-3 hours. I kinda looked like an unimpressed Squidward from the Spongebob show.

I had a protein yogurt. It was gross. It hurts real effing bad and the Tylenol 3 they prescribed isn’t doing squat. But i will make it.

Dog has been glued to my side since i showed up. She’s concerned :cry:

Yeah, I feel the same way. They're like the mechanics connected to car dealers where you go for something small and they bully you into doing a ton of unnecessary work and charge hundreds/thousands.

The last time I went to the dentist before I lost the insurance coverage I had under my parents they tried to convince me that I needed to make an appointment with the oral surgeon to take out my wisdom teeth. I never did (I couldn't and it's been about 11 years and those wisdom teeth never caused any problem at all.

I do have dental coverage now but I haven't gotten around to going back for a checkup because I just don't want to deal with them trying to push stuff on me like a filling here and a root canal there and sealants or whitening or all that crap. Though I may end up having to go in the near future because I am starting to get some sensitivity in one of my molars. Even then I'm hesitant, like it probably just needs the filling replaced but they'll probably try to upcharge and do a root canal or pull and implant for no reason.

Glad it went well but hope the pain subsides soon! Dogs are the best.

So i just got home. All went well, they did send something off but it's to check and see if I need to come back in five years instead of ten.

They took me back about half an hour later than scheduled. Told me to take a couple deep breaths and I was down for the count. Woke up an hour later in recovery and was wondering why there was a strange person talking to me but thankfully I figured it out pretty quick lol.

Stopped on the way home and got a chicken sandwich, fries, and lemonade instead of the world's biggest cheeseburger. Best tasting fries in my life lol.

Anyway, now I will say..... go get your scope if you are of a certain age.

CTV in Canada today made an announcement that a beloved anchor of the national news ( the most watched newscast ) was leaving the network.

CTV neglected to say she was fired ( contract terminated )

“I was blindsided, and am still shocked, and saddened by Bell Media’s decision.”

That was Lisa LaFlamme’s message, delivered on Twitter Monday, regarding her unexpected exit after 35 years at CTV — the last 11 as Chief Anchor of the CTV National News.

LaFlamme reported that she was told June 29 that the network had made a business decision to bring her contract to a sudden close.

I first met her in 1995 when she was assigned to cover the last game at Boston Garden for CTV News and she said to me 'you will laugh at me but I think I saw a rat' and I replied 'only one?'

At 58, however, having survived over two-years of COVID workplace restrictions which changed how all network services reported the news, LaFlamme has every right to feel shocked at her sudden departure. Robertson left at 77; Peter Mansbridge gave up the CBC anchor chair at 69. These jobs actually did last forever once — for men.

In April, LaFlamme won Best News Anchor at the Canadian Screen Awards. She goes out as the anchor of the No. 1 newscast in the country. What more did she need to do to keep her job?

My hubby and I have finally got my parents' house ready for sale....he worked his butt off, I am so lucky to have such a great husband. Through the tragedy, friends, family and a therapist have helped me deal with my Mom's suicide, Dad being placed in memory care, and I'm doing okay. Thanks to those who reached out to me here as well, the world is filled with good, caring people. It is the ugly ones who make the news but I am heartened by what I have experienced.

So now the house will go live on Friday and hopefully we will get it sold quickly. It holds so many bad memories and going through belongings has been very hard. Most of the furniture was made by my Dad but we can only keep so much. Everything left will be auctioned off. I know one thing, we are not doing this to our kids. The purging will begin once we have time for ourselves.

I also learned about "Swedish Death Cleaning" - what a fantastic idea!

Good Luck with the sale of the house and sorry it had so many bad memories. We sold my parent's home 10 years ago after they had lived there for 60 years. I grew up there and it had many good memories. It was so difficult to clean out 60 years' worth of living.

I am trying to clean out stuff I don't want for my daughter's sake.

Good luck to you and sending a hug.

For our weather enthusiasts, the Nat'l Weather Service is doing a retrospective on the evolution of Hurricane Andrew from the very beginning.

It is crazy it went from barely anything to a category 5 and slamming Miami.

I can't believe it has been 30 years and the aftermath of the storm is still being felt today specifically with homeowners insurance and the skyrocketing costs.

I've read Bryan Norcross' book about the event and what he did to make sure people were prepared as well as help them ride out the storm was remarkable. He stayed on air for the whole thing and broadcasted most of the event from a storage closet in the tv station.

Vacation to Maine was great, we probably did too many things because we thought it was going to rain the next day but each time it kept clearing or just staying cloudy.

We stayed in Brooklin, ME which is on the Blue Hill Peninsula. Loved the location you are 1 hour from Acadia (MDI, Schoodic Point, and Isle Au Haut) and Camden Hills. Plus the peninsula itself is so laid back and lacks the crowds. Acadia was nuts though, the park loop was like going on a Disney ride. We were able to swim at Sand beach on afternoon though. Cold but totally worth it.

The highlight by far was Isle Au Haut. It was 40 mins from Stonington, ME. There is one boat at 11am and a return at 4pm from Duck Harbor which get you and about 60 others to that part of Acadia for the day. We stopped in the town center for like an hour and enjoyed watching island life. An interesting mix of self sufficient rich WASPs and Lobstermen.

Found this artist on @caz16 Twitter feed and purchased this beauty. Check him out here: redbubble.com/people/Bornbruin

He is very talented, I got a couple of his posters, some cards and coasters. He has an amazing amount of designs and items. The stuff arrived quickly and is very well made.
