Im not very trusting of people.

All the time I try to pay it forward. Just a few days ago on a break at taco bell a homeless went in said he was hungry. I went to buy him some tacos the manager made a gesture to me. As I was about to pay they told me they took care of him.

Used to always get in n out for the homeless people who hung around there.

One my former coworkers was homeless(issues with his family, mental health……he would stay at friends houses or sleep at starbucks near our job) i would get him food, let him wash and wash his clothes at my place and spend some nights.

These days tho I am weary of people. Have done alot for people who stabbed me in the back or turned their backs on me. but people are much nicer down south than out west from what I seen so far
Don't lose your nuance for being compassionate :)
Most people's behaviors are about them and not you. I get it though.
you do you.

F* me then lol, that's where we are going.

We actually looked at Hershey, and some other stuff down in that general area. Diggerland, Dreamworks park, I think there were a couple others too. That one is still in the back pocket for another trip though. I'm surprised about the bathroom problem. Disappointed is a more fitting description. I have very fond memories of my Hershey Park family trip when I was a kid, probably around 13 years old.

The lady and I have been to Disney a bunch of times without kids, including together a few years back. We know the lay of the land, how the app works for booking wait times and whatnot, so I think we will have a bit of an advantage in that regard. The concern is the heat and energy levels of the kids. We are planning to get to the parks EARLY, hang as long as we can and survive on fruit/snacks/everything we can hold from the hotel breakfast, then have lunch and a nap back at the hotel. Attack the park again a few hours later and hopefully go to the end.

We did Six Flags and Sesame Street last year when it was 90-95 degrees with not a cloud in the sky, and the kids handled it better than I could. I have faith.

EDIT: I think I saw some pictures of you on some coasters at Hershey. You got some stones my friend. I can't even look at those rides.
My oldest suddenly became a coaster enthusiast this year so she dragged me on them every day we were there. It was nice but the splash park was brutal. No shade, no places to sit, and hot as f***. The park itself was a blast for the kids though. They loved it. We also had the dog so every five feet someone stopped us to ask if they could pet the dog. First day we were more accommodating, after that though we were like no he’s a service dog and he’s working, sorry. Lol

After a while I’m sure being the park celebs with a dog gets VERY old.

First day wasn’t hot so we didn’t have his boots on. Second day was a scorcher so he had them and literally everyone commented. I was like uh huh he has boots on so his paws don’t burn. Yes he has boots on. Yep those are boots. Also thrown in for good measure was look at the dog with shoes on. For 6+ f***ing hours.

Next time the dog gets a sign on his harness, “Yes. Boots.”

Not trying to wish summer away here but its been so hot I can't wait for autumn and cool(but not cold) dry nights where I can just open a couple windows and get that perfect cooling cross breeze...

Summer is my least favourite season. I'll take Fall all year round - nothing like that cool air at night. I even love winter but do get a bit tired of it by February. I feel fortunate that I live where we get four seasons because I honestly can't imagine living where it is hot all year round. It is a good thing we are all different....lol I have no desire for the sun and sand in January, so I'll leave room for others that do. Nothing like a good snow storm.

I was in Texas last week and the San Antonio Riverwalk is really nice. We were talking to a waiter who said that it's beautiful at Christmas -- with the lights and decorations.

I'm sure it is nice to look at, but I couldn't even imaging spending the Christmas season in 60 degree weather (even 50's is too warm) without the possibility of a snowstorm, ice storm etc.

Plus -- and I know I'm crazy with this one -- I don't mind the darkness at 5:30 --- especially around Christmas, as the Christmas lights go on, Christmas shows/movies are on and hockey is in full swing.

I quit a job because "We are moving you to Austin" was written on the wall in big black letters. No way I'd survive in the Texas heat.
Yep, and it isn't JUST the heat for me. Of all of Texas I do hear that Austin is the best city. No way I would move there though.

I hate the heat and the sun so I'd probably hate it there. Otherwise, property values are low and you could live like a king there, but I couldn't take the weather. California is bad enough but at least we have the ocean.

Austin is very eclectic. Kind of a college town crossed with the People's Republic of Cambridge. Very artsy and musical vibe running through it too. Cool place to visit and hang out, but not a place I'd want to live full time. Still better than most parts of Texas.

My daughter lives in Napa and it doesn't get as hot and humid.

If you are looking for a nice Christmas view without snow, Lake Havasu in Arizona is really pretty. They light up the original London Bridge and it's beautiful.

Honestly, it's nice not having to put up Christmas lights and traveling/food shopping in the farking slush and cold. I thought I would miss it, but I truly do not. They light up the palm trees here which are spectacular. It's definitely a different feel and usually about 61 or so. I miss rainy days, but not snow.

I"m in AZ after growing up near Boston. The bad heat is honestly maybe 3 weeks out of the year. Anything below 108 you get use to as if its nothing. Days above 110 you stay inside. (humidity here is rare)
