My mom was a big Larry Glick fan, she'd switch over to listen to his show after listening to a west coast Red Sox game.

I grew up listening to all those WBZ guys: Dave Maynard, Larry Justice, Don Batting did the news,, Don Kent the weather, Joe Green for traffic report,Guy Manilla for sports, & Peter Meade for politics...I think all of them are gone now :(
Peter is still plugging along and Guy is retired and living in the Portland, Maine area.

Considering almost every year seems to be added to the list of hottest years on record these disgusting days are only going to get worse in the years to come.

Taking a lot of enjoyment out of summer.

There is a Larry Glick fan page on Facebook.

People have shared lots of content there including the Graveyard Marauder and the Orangutang stories.

Brings back so many memories.

Posted this in the visiting Boston thread but thinking maybe it'd be better here.

Anyone know a good beer league near Somerville? I just moved to the area, haven't played in a rec league for a few years but looking to get back into it.

T-13 days until we take the kids down to Disney. We have officially started mapping out the days, completely aware that the kids energy levels will dictate the entire week anyway. I am excited. So f***ing excited.

We started off booking on a budget but i think im finally convincing the other half to say screw it. Spend the money. Pay for everything. Skip the lines. Get the souvenirs. The kids only get to experience this as babies (7/7/10) once.

Im ready.

Got out for a mile walk earlier today before the heat really set in and got lucky that there was a decent breeze plus some clouds. Still sweated like crazy so my liquid IV packet in my water was clutch. I put stick of the acai flavor in 25 oz of cold water and shook to dissolve.

Way better than gatorade or any of those other sports drinks imo.

Best philosophy to have IMO.

We didn't start going until my sister and I were older so my parents would save up for 2 years and then my dad would cash out the max PTO he could and we'd rotate between Universal and Disney. After the 1st year at Universal, we started doing club level which paid for itself in just 1 day.

We did club level at the Beach Club plus the meal plan last time we went to Disney right before the pandemic hit. It was ok but Epcot was under a lot of construction. Thankfully that is all complete now so you won't have any issues.

The only thing with the dining plan is you need to make sure you are getting your money's worth.

I highly recommend getting the kids a customized magic band. I ordered mine right when I got into the park and it was ready later in the day. I ended up with Maleficent on one side and the dragon on the other because at like 5 years old, I was obsessed with her (still my favorite Disney character of all time) while everyone else loved Sleeping Beauty.

Have loads of fun!

great age. If you can do it up. When ours were littles things were tight. But I never regretted go all out. To this day, all in their 20s , they still have great memories of it.

be aware of the Florida weather it changes on a dime, when you least expect it, it'll pour hard, the heat isn't really an issue after being up here and if you can survive it here, that's a breeze. Also be aware of the Pelicans, they're aggressive there looking for food, even if it's shells

We’ve been to Disney a few times and this is the right attitude, IMO.

My 21 and 19 year old kids still bring up those trips relatively often.

Yes it’s expensive but the memories are proceless.

I don’t have much time now but I’ll try to PM you with a few tricks we learned over the years later on.

So it seems all the annoying neighbors across the Taiwanese strait decided to do was waste billions of dollars in military equipment just to kill a bunch of fish and make the Japanese angry by firing missiles into Japanese territorial waters in the process. Which...is just dandy.

Feels like over 100 here in NY

Going to Maine tomorrow for 3 days to work on the land......taking the chipper/shredder, chainsaw.
It is supposed to be 75, 75, 77 all with a good chance of rain....bring it on....I don't care. Im gonna get my ass soaked and I'm gonna enjoy it.

And just for fun at the end of each day.....fishing and jumping in the pond
