Wow everyone seems to have a horror story....my Mom recently passed and had a small insurance policy....with the oldest of us 5 siblings named as the beneficiary.....now knowing my Mom, she figured oldest would just be the distributor.....Nope....oldest sister says thank you very much, screw you all, I got some $ and you didn't.That is horrible, I just don't understand how people can behave this way. We have our issues too with one brother. When my Dad broke his hip in early June, my Mom called him and asked him to come...he said he had a lot going on and would call later but he never did. My mother then took her own life and we called him to tell him.. My father didn't want him at the funeral. It is so sad. We are a small family. My SIL was instrumental in my mother's suicide attempt last year and she got grilled by the medical association...long story but she called the funeral home and made trouble, posted things on the memorial site. Unbelievably sad.
Which of course led to more problems within the siblings.....I liked it better when most of us only contact is a Christmas card every year.....
The ones taking care of her house, have decided the others who are doing nothing should compensate them for their time.....amazing if any of us are still talking to each other after all this...
Hopefully when the house sells there will nothing left to argue about and I will get back to only having contact with 2 of them (whom I get along well with)
