That is horrible, I just don't understand how people can behave this way. We have our issues too with one brother. When my Dad broke his hip in early June, my Mom called him and asked him to come...he said he had a lot going on and would call later but he never did. My mother then took her own life and we called him to tell him.. My father didn't want him at the funeral. It is so sad. We are a small family. My SIL was instrumental in my mother's suicide attempt last year and she got grilled by the medical association...long story but she called the funeral home and made trouble, posted things on the memorial site. Unbelievably sad.
Wow everyone seems to have a horror story....my Mom recently passed and had a small insurance policy....with the oldest of us 5 siblings named as the beneficiary.....now knowing my Mom, she figured oldest would just be the distributor.....Nope....oldest sister says thank you very much, screw you all, I got some $ and you didn't.

Which of course led to more problems within the siblings.....I liked it better when most of us only contact is a Christmas card every year.....

The ones taking care of her house, have decided the others who are doing nothing should compensate them for their time.....amazing if any of us are still talking to each other after all this...

Hopefully when the house sells there will nothing left to argue about and I will get back to only having contact with 2 of them (whom I get along well with)

That is so sad. I am glad you have two siblings that you get along with. My husband's family is the same, five kids and he gets along with two. my other brother has a heart of gold, so at least we have each other.

The driver that ran the light survived and NBC in LA reports the driver is a traveling nurse and may have been distracted.

Yeah, confirmed to be a nurse. Distracted maybe, but that doesn't account for the speed. That car was well over the limit. Will have to wait and see what the investigation turns up.

My aunt passed away unexpectedly this morning. We just had made plans about a week ago about her coming over finally after being separated for 3 years due to the pandemic. Her daughter kept her away from all of us really. So I'm at the stage of anger right now. I know that anger will go away but that's the state I'm at.

She was 89 years old. She was my godmother. She was a tough cookie. And I will miss her very much. I feel angry. And sad. And mostly numb.

I'm so sick of being scared and nervous all the time. Having anxiety and depression doesn't help the way I feel right now. Just sucks. This f***ing sucks.

If anyone can send some good vibes or prayers my way I'd be grateful.
Sending you Comforting Blessings.....

I had broccoli cauliflower lettuce and sugar snaps before the heat got to them, right now I have acorn squash, corn, I harvested all my potatoes the other day, eggplant, jalapeños, banana peppers, bells, cherry tomatoes, sun gold (highly recommend), Cherokee purples, black krims, romas, multiple other heirlooms with funky names, onions, watermelons, butternut squash, kale, vine borers took my zucchini the other day lol, I have a Concord grape box with 5 sided trellis around it and I’ve gotten good at growing and training cannabis and enjoy rooting clones and giving them away. I finally found a food bank that takes stuff and actually now live near the old neighborhood i worked in so I know families to bring things too, I haven’t gotten excellent at canning yet so I’m making sure nothing goes to waste :)
That is amazing! You sound like my daughter, she loves gardening and grows a large variety of veggies. She found heirloom tomatoes on Kijiji and they are much better than the supermarket types. She harvests the seeds from almost everything and starts them inside. I have a china cabinet that my Dad made that she will be getting soon - it is tall with almost all glass so she is going to use it to start her plants in the spring.

Do you use pesticides? Any tips to keep pests away naturally? She tries hard not to use any and is constantly battling with squirrels too. My hubby wants to build her a greenhouse too.

I love that you have found ways to give them to who needs them too. Thank you!

I use neem oil as a direct spray and systemically, and bt for caterpillars and borers, both are natural pesticides and fine for the environment - neem you just have to strategically use (after sundown, avoid spraying pollinators)

The biggest thing with pests is; early and often, and support the plant. If the plant is really healthy they are good at fighting pests. The biggest pain is vine borers, they are hard to prevent and once they’re in it’s tough. Covering the stalk with soil as it grows is effective and something I didn’t do.

With pests like aphids, killing them early and consistently prevents their colonies from getting out of control and gives the plant a chance to become so robust they won’t be a problem anyways

you get the trex boards? Theyve gone up like $5 a board since then. Friggin joke. I was going to redo our deck then I almost shit myself when i saw the prices.
I did! Trex Foggy Wharf. They’ve sat in my driveway for over a month, and on top of that, the forklift snapped like four boards dropping them off.

My dad, brother and I went to Nashville for the Bruins game last December. What a great town. We had an awesome time. I think my liver just recovered recently.

Bruce was a good guy and was unfairly broomed by Ch 4 in 2001 only because he was pushing 60.

WBZ TV-4 "Eyewitness News" On-Air Gaffes

Rest gently. A staple of my childhood. I adored him. and by all accounts seemed like a great guy. My gradmother use to say "he smiles with his eyes."

I can remember Don Kent pulling the maps like a sliding barn door and writing in squeaky marker.

I was peeved when they brought in Barry Burbank.

I am incredibly sorry, that sounds like a very heavy weight to bear.

We aren't educated in grief in this country. We aren't taught the language of speaking about grief and we avoid it at all costs. (big girls don't cry. don't worry, be happy) We have no idea how to be with each other in grief and fall back on "Just stay busy or they are in a better place" which is dismissing and shaming.

Overall, we feel shame, guilt and confusion about grief-we rush to tell each other to get over it and push through it. We are perceived as weak for feeling it and instead we bottle it up or bypass it (and each other) It has created a serious crisis in the West around anxiety, depression and violence.
I just got done with my trauma support specialist certification and it was eye opening.

Meagan Divine is a great source for grief education if anyone is looking for one.

Feels cool to have lunch for the first time at work but again may not do all 30 minutes. Have 6 hours 102 or so more stops. But the 30 minutes already deducted from my pay argh!

My oldest memories of him are
From the Larry Glick
Show.

My mom was a big Larry Glick fan, she'd switch over to listen to his show after listening to a west coast Red Sox game.

I grew up listening to all those WBZ guys: Dave Maynard, Larry Justice, Don Batting did the news,, Don Kent the weather, Joe Green for traffic report,Guy Manilla for sports, & Peter Meade for politics...I think all of them are gone now :(
