Shanahan/Dubas after another first round failure.

Exactly. The easy way out is to blame the fans when in fact it is absolutely incredible that such a large fan bas has stuck with this team no matter how many years of disappointment.Leafs haven't won a cup since there were 6 teams. Haven't made a SCF either. 0 playoff series wins in 17 years. It's not the fans. Tbe fact that Toronto has the largest fanbase in the sport is a testament to loyalty/insanity.
I really want to know what Dubas means by drafting skill all the time. Does he mean shot? does he mean playmaking? So far all I see is tiny guys who get bumped off the puck easily and lose board battles against much bigger guys. If you want skill...shooting is a skill too.
That is a a contradiction, by definition Leaf fans can't be happy, by design they have to bitch about something or they will explode.
If the Leafs ever win the cup, the very next day you will have some putz on this forum bitching about something Leaf.
DAILY REMINDER
- 11 AAV
- 0 goals in last 18 playoff games
- 0 PP goals in the entire regular season
- Out competed by 5'9 Gallagher and rookies (suzuki, caufield)
- refuses to take responsibility (I played well)
- Two games in a row had back breaking plays (Game 6: puck over the glass giving habs 5 on 3 and game 7 when game was tied gave away the puck in the offensive zone and habs scored to take 1-0 lead and momentum)
- 5 years in the league hasn't improved his shot or his physical attributes. Body of a 10 year kid and scared to take hits, go to corners
- Money is everything to the marner family. Paul and Mitch whine, bitch and moan about money every chance they get.
- Entitled brat that doesn't put the work in; takes significant portion of the cap and lays an egg in the playoffs
- Was found partying/vacationing after the playoffs instead of in the gym working out or working on his shot
There is ZERO justification why he should be Leaf and why Dubas should be a GM or Shanahan a President or Keefe a coach.
Shoot them all into the sun.
Longest cup drought in the league. Among only one other team to never win a playoff round in the cap era.
You act like the team has been the epitome of success and the fans are too stupid to be happy about it.
The truth is the team is the humiliation of the entire league and some fans are too stupid to be angry about it.
We are just going to ignore that around here.Yeah, 0 PP goals in his last 73 regular season games despite highest PP TOI, and last 6 of 7 playoff penalties are for over-the-glass delay of game...what a player!
Easily the most unlikable player they've had since I started watching (2002)DAILY REMINDER

Too much to hope for. Here's hoping this thread isn't as childish as the prior ones. I wouldn't bet on it though.

I know for myself much of my over the top anger this years is that I bought into the Shanaplan 100%. Tank the team get some good picks and build it correctly. That’s what they were doing and then boom Shanny gives the reins to some kid with zero NHL experience who goes out and signs a player that we did not need at that time for 11 million dollars. Then he gives 3 more crazy contracts and just like that the team is screwed.
He has to gut the rest of the team because of no money left.
Then we all have to listen to Marner not once but twice say that he wasn’t ready to start a playoff game and to further insult us he said he wasn’t going to do anything different to prepare for next year………but we are all still here.
Those greedy Punks should that god they play for such loyal fans
When you command 11 million per year and go 0/5 in the playoffs, nobody gives a damn about regular season totals anymore. When Marner apologists post his regular season numbers continuously, it's just hammering home the divide the fanbase is having right now. They mean nothing to me and are just a reminder of how he gutted the organization to hand him the contract he has. It's all based on season totals.4th leading point generator... garbage, trade him, spoiled brat, bench him, he's been garbage since his new contract.
Rocket Richard winner, garbage, no killer instinct, not a face puncher
Goalie with the 2nd best stats in last years play-ins/playoffs... he is the root of all our problems in the playins/ playoffs...
You act like our fan base is the most rationale mob.
Boston had the balls to trade Thornton, a 100 point player, who sucked in the playoffs. They eventually win a cup and Thornton keeps going out in the first 2 rounds.4th leading point generator... garbage, trade him, spoiled brat, bench him, he's been garbage since his new contract.

Hard to argue with this. I wanted Kessel traded so we could rebuild, nothing against the player or his skill level. I thought Phil was quite good in the playoffsEasily the most unlikable player they've had since I started watching (2002)

I loved Phil but at the time he was dealt, the team had nothing and needed to rebuild. I still think what Toronto did from 2014-2016 was pretty perfect. They just couldn't build off that and let the brats run the asylum.Hard to argue with this. I wanted Kessel traded so we could rebuild, nothing against the player or his skill level. It's just the level of idiocy combined with the redundancy that I find amusing. It didn't even make one page before the pitch fork crowd started again...
Hey sport. I would agree with you but then we would both be wrong...

There is precedent to trade good regular season players with a lot of points if it's not working out.
No what there is NO precedent for? Half the cap on 4 forwards.
For you, Marner being "good". Is the end of the discussion. You "don't trade" young good players. The end.
Many of us (who don't have to constantly harp on about how intelligent we are) see things as far more complicated than that.
REGULAR SEASON STATS = WHO CARES
Washington lost in the 1st/2nd round many times with Ovechkin and Backstrom... how did they ever win by hanging on to their perennial failure forwards?
Do playoff goals nowHey sport. I would agree with you but then we would both be wrong...
