He's right. The style of play during the playoffs is fundamentally similar(dump and chase). The only issue with the Leafs is that we have a first line forward playing 20+ minutes a game who doesn't like going into the corners after a dump in.

None of our players chase. The only time they dump in is when they go for a change, which is always because the players spend all of their shifts hemmed in the D-zone.

To be fair, that is somewhat true. It's why our save percentage is usually pretty good even though we let up 40+ shots. However, there is no way our defense could have been considered "well enough".

The main problem is possession. Our forwards after the first line suck lol. If you watch these teams in the playoffs, they have solid cycle games in the offensive zone. Our team just carries it in, and if no pass is available in the slot or on D, they usually give it away.
