A point on the road, in a game that started at 1:00, against a team that is not only the best in the NHL right now, but have a goal differential of almost 2 goals per game.

This is a new roster, and it's gonna take time to gel. The best they can do now is stay in the hunt until the team comes together.

This is a good regular season result.

They also held the 2nd best power play in the league to 1/6.

Counterpoint: You're a straight up moron if you spend a bunch of money on a team, and you're a straight up moron if you get super mad about something you have literally no control over. This message board is built for straight up morons.

Fandom is a sucker's bet. I'm just here for the taeks! I'm above all of you and your petty earthly concerns!

LOL- well since you put it like that…

and I have to ask am I really angry? Or just peformatively angry? Probably the latter.

Yeah, you’re right brother. First world problems.

There’s a consolation here in that a number of teams stumbled early to mid-season, proceeded to catch fire and then won it all. See Pittsburgh 2016, Washington 2018, St. Louis 2019 and Tampa 2020 (to an extent). Winning the first couple months of the season is not a prerequisite for the success this team wants to have. It really is not about how you start, but how you finish.

Seriously, though: I myself did not get performatively angry at losses. I got actually angry at losses.

It got to the point where Mrs. Hank told me that she was tired of me being an insufferable asshole on the drives home after we lost, and that she wasn't gonna go to games with me anymore if I didn't figure it out. From there, it was easy to say "yeah, care about this a little less and you'll be a happier person," and damn if it ain't true. For me, anyway.

I still keep up with you idiots out of habit, I guess.

I missed the game. Highlights make it look like Boston spent half the game on the pp.

What'd I miss?

We can sing the ol “Refs screwed us” tune again but I prefer to put the blame on lack of discipline and scoring ability AGAIN! We know we’re not going to get a fair shake from the stripes in Boston but that isn’t new. We flat out blew this just like Minnesota.

I don’t have a problem with you complaining about them losing. I have a problem with you complaining about the 22 year old goaltender who was the only reason they were in the game in the first place. Spend your money how you see fit. Complain about shitty play, there’s been plenty of it. Your comment was oh good I get to watch this bad goalie for 4 years which if that’s your takeaway fro. The game I’m sorry but you don’t know what you’re looking at. This is GDT though so it shouldn’t be that deep and that’s on me. My apologies.

Refs win

Canes finally play a decent game but cant beat the refs too, absolutely busy league officiating in this one. No surprise BOS is undefeated at home with that kinda horseshit
Careful, you don't want to upset the keyboard warrior Bruin fans with more passive aggressive behavior like TD Charlie laughing at your post; one of the biggest Bruin trolls on the board who couldn't help coming over to our board. Never mind that every fan base has made legit criticisms of the officiating in this league over YEARS.

It's okay though, I just remind myself of the Bruin fans booing when Koko drew a 4 minute high sticking penalty. Yeah, that Koko guy must've used ketchup packets under his sleeve for blood! What an actor! Such an outrage. Lol legit funny mental gymnastics.

Anyway, another OTL. Yay!

Well, they did actually score twice on the power play in one game. There is that.

BS with the refs aside, that was an awful too many men on the ice though. In OT? No excuse.

Again, in our horrible stretch of 5 straight losses, 4 were in OT… those are essentially ties not losses. What happens in 3v3 and shootout means absolutely nothing. Things ain’t nearly as bad as they seem, especially with the lack of puck/ref luck and the injuries. This team will be fine, it’s November and we’re still in a playoff spot right now.
