Enforcers deterring dirty plays is a total myth. There were plenty of goons in the 90's/00's and we saw superstars like kariya,Lindros etc get headhunted all the time. It's nice to have a guy sticking up for his team, but it's not going to stop anyone. Fighting after the fact doesn't suddenly reverse an injury. Remember how much people were anticipating Belak fighting Cam(can't remember his last name) after he hurt Kaberle? It meant nothing.

I understand there are fans who don’t see the need for toughness on a team. I just disagree with them.

The leafs have been getting physically intimidated and taken advantage of for a decade, and it hasn’t led to any success.

It’s fine for the bruins to beat up the leafs on the ice and the scoreboard, or the canadiens, or the lightning, or the panthers, etc but it’s not okay to stand your ground for the leafs?

We played this game with Dubas already, it doesn’t work. You can’t play clean and hope to capitalize on the pp when teams bully you because in the playoffs, you’re not getting all those powerplays.

It’ll be basically even in powerplays every game, so yes you absolutely need someone to do some of the dirty work.

Especially when your top 6 has zero toughness at all

The good news is that we've clearly been the better team.

The bad news is that we've had very little go our way.
