It can definitely if you get hit in the wrong spot, where there just isn't as much protection.

Lol don’t know if anyone else saw this but it looks like St.Louis called up some defensmen named Steven Santini yesterday. Wonder if he’s any good.
I really thought he was done for the season given weeks and weeks without any update.

Arizona at the very least would likely claim him on waivers, as their last waiver pickup has been as bad as him and doesn't even have any kind of a track record of ever performing well at the NHL level.
But this team is still reluctant to use him as the clear cut backup, so I'm not sure we're anywhere near that, especially after he survived the Boston massacre to come back after only 2 games in a non back to back.
The last long term goalie we waived was all but shut down and sitting in back to backs and only played 2 games in 4 weeks before he was finally waived.
I'm at the stage of grief where I'm just trying to bargain for him to be the backup and the backup only. Which means only starts in back to back sets and a game or two sprinkled in when we have a busy schedule with no back to backs.

I really really wanted Santini to work. Probably more than anyone of the "big 5" (
) outside of Larsson cause he was such a high pick. Only probably Gelinas has turned out worse, he's been pro in Europe for years already although he did try for North America comeback last year but quickly went back.
