Try living in a mountain town of 10k...

You don't lose your gf, you just lose your turn.

lol I lived in Silverthorne for a while. We had the same saying, plus another one I really can't share on here. But something about visiting a bar and seeing 8 dudes all around 1 woman - and that's how you knew you were in Summit County. The adjectives to describe the one woman were not flattering.

It's very true.

So, so good. Saw him at Red Rocks last year with Devil Makes Three. He's a true one man show. At least until Esme comes out and rocks the house.

Still my favorite Shakey Graves song. I forget where I heard them, but both Shakey Graves and Alabama Shakes in 2012 made me love Folk music again.

This is how I feel about my town for sure too. No way you're not going to run into exs. Just a way of life out here.

Skied both Arrow Peak and the lower part of the Wham Ridge of Vestal. Such an incredible weekend. I'm absolutely trashed though. 21 miles and 11k vert over three days. At least 17 miles of that were hiking in ski boots with skis on our packs. Rough stuff, but well worth it. :yo:

I went backpacking in the Weminuche a couple of times. It's awesome.

is this really a crime?

http://www.insideedition.com/headli...-breaking-into-home-and-cooking-fried-chicken

A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly entered a home while the owner was out and began cooking fried chicken and drinking her vodka, according to police.

Ronald Wesly, 34, was caught frying the goods when Samantha O’Neal and her sister arrived home Wednesday night, according to WOFL.

"He was in here, drunk as a skunk, just being Betty Crocker," Melissa Stanley, O'Neal’s sister, told the station.

One of O’Neal’s friends ended up eating the chicken, however, and said it wasn’t half bad.

"He said it was seasoned very well," O’Neal told WOFL.

It's an incredible place. Feels very remote and wild. Especially with a ton of snow on the ground still

Where did you backpack too? I hope you made it out to the Chicago basin or the Vestal area

Yeah he puts on a fantastic show... I saw recently he has been playing with a full band. The next time he rolls through the area, I'll have to make sure to see him again.

I'm pretty excited for the Esme show at Hi-Dive coming up in May. I missed her the last time she came through Denver and played.

Lol, I'm not quite hip, so maybe it's the next big trend in food for the super rich. Have a random vagabond wander into your kitchen and make you dinner. Are you going to get the best 5 course meal ever, or are you going to get Hep C. I don't know, that's part of the experience.

Yeah I did the railroad/backpack excursion into Chicago basin one time. Tried to climb the three 14-ers but only made it up the Southern one. It was awesome, I'd recommend it to anyone. There are a couple of people who skied back up in there and shot a video of it, I'll try to find the link when I get home. It's probably similar to what you were doing.

I also went on a backpacking trip with my ex-girlfriend one time where we came up from the south, went up Vallecito creek and camped a couple of nights.

I love it down there, it reminds me a lot of the Alps because it is so wet. I don't think people realize how much it rains down in that area compared to other parts of the Rockies. Plus it's remote as well.

Edit: Here's a pretty good video of a couple of dudes doing the Chicago Basin trip if anybody wants to check it out.

 you could say that about a lot of things that happen in Florida. " cause Florida "

Well you should've at least watched something not terrible.

I rarely watch television too but sometimes when networks bother to show half decent movies (Note to others: not something to take for granted.), I like to take the time to watch them. It's been a decent run of notable film series' of late. All the Batmans, all the Star Wars' like twice, now Marvel films, some other movies too.

Besides movies, I really only watch Masterchef Australia on TV. That's not including reruns of The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park.

You say watch something not terrible and list Masterchef :D I have started to watch Uutisvuoto (Newsleak) and Hyvät ja huonot uutiset (Good and bad news) again. That show suffers from absence of Kyrö, Nousiainen & Hyppönen tho. Pretty much only things I watch from TV.

I always think that superhero films stink. But I've been proven wrong with Batman saga. It's just my prejudice tho.

Masterchef Australia (Just Australia. Not the others.) is the best reality TV show ever by a fair margin.

Such friendly folk.

I can't stand food shows anymore

If you like business though, you should watch The Profit

Probably my favorite TV show, and it's actually educational.

I can't stand 99% of reality shows, it's sooo fake and borderline cheesy.

Only ones I like are BB and Survivor. But Masterchef/Hells Kitchen/anything else.. rubbish.

Top Chef is coming to Colorado. I haven't watched in a few years but I will watch that one. Will make my foodie heart happy and I always like seeing my city/state featured.

Any Kitchen Nightmares fans you should know the Amy's Baking Company one, no? We went on a field trip couple years ago when we were in Phoenix to visit it.

Amy's finally closed I think. American Kitchen Nightmares is garbage but that episode was damn good TV. Ramsey's stuff from the UK is genuinely good.
