So I've been listening to quite a bit of rap lately and I gotta rescind my half-of-a-decade-old comment about Eminem. The bloke knows how to rap, sure he has some really corny songs, but more good than bad. Actually, for the rap lot here, his first-ever song is pretty revolutionary. However, I still don't really see how Kanye is a good rapper though.

Did they call you back?

Yeah, I had 4-5 interviews with the first one before we agreed on the money not working out, and the second team was pretty upfront about how much they paid in the first interview so it ended pretty quickly after we discussed salary.

I'm not a huge rap fan, and I don't like Kanye's music standalone, but I will say that I enjoy some Kanye "mashups"...

(This one is so good despite how shitty both singers ended up being)

Someone made a whole album of "Death Cab for Yeezy" mashups which was pretty solid. I'm actually going to see Death Cab this weekend and I haven't listened to them outside of those mashups in probably a decade, so it'll be interesting to hear them alone again

EDIT

And Kayne stealing Dunkey's joke and actually putting it in his album will never not be funny to be

Anyone go to the Cure concert in Denver?

Would have been an awesome show on their world tour.

Most of you are too young

The Cure is still doing shows?

That's awesome! Doubt their playing anything closer than Seattle for me though.

Having grown up with the Spider-Man PS1 game and the Tobey Maguire era movies with drab visuals and Nickelback on the OST, I can't come anywhere near being interested in these crazy amazing multiverse of friendship animated films.

If you are going to see The Cure, make sure and go early:

Every time they play here the amount of old weirdos in the crowd seems to increase which is annoying, but good for them.

It looks better than the Photos too. I had terrible lighting and kept catching reflections. She used something called a "Cricket"(sp?). I don't know what that thing is, but she makes a lot of cool things with it.

Definitely gonna hit up Casa Bonita... and I don't have an issue with the price. Sounds like they have upgraded the place and food dramatically.

Heading to Red Rocks tonight... after last night's utter disaster there, this could be... interesting...

With the current forecast I'd be ready to bail and watching the radar closely. LAst night looked like utter chaos.

Who's playing tonight?

Shakey Graves... should be a great show, if it happens.

Yeah it looked real bad last night. The videos that are out there are pretty horrifying and the response from staff seemed pretty bad. One thing is for sure, taking the wife's car tonight!

I remember when we'd go to Denver as kids and it was like a special thing to go to Casa Bonitas . My sister still has nightmares about being chased by a gorilla there. I don't care what the price is, I'm going to take my kids so I can keep up the generational trauma going.

It’s enough of a catastrophe to get out of that place even when the weather is nice. I can’t imagine the chaos last night. Stay safe

Was lucky enough to do the full backstage thing with Shakey Graves last year, since my GFs mom was dating his dad. It was an awesome show. Alejandro and the band are awesome people. Hopefully the weather holds off tonight and you get a good show!

I went once or twice with my hockey teams after games growing up and it was always such a shit show . Going was always toeing the line between traumatic and hilarious.

I cannot wait to go back and see what it is like. I'll be making trips back up for follow ups on my surgery so I will hit it up eventually.

That's a pretty sweet experience! We were at the same show too!

One of my friends does a lot of recording for musicians and did some in Bozeman (or maybe Cody) with him. Had similar things to say. I've never met the guy, but seems like a good dude.

As for tonight, NWS Boulder saying apple sized hail is giving me comfort. :help:

How's the recovery coming along?

Recovery is going well. I am headed back home to Silverton in a few days! I just started being able to move my knee recently and that has been a nice change from fully locked out. Slowly working on getting mobility back and soon will be starting PT. Luckily my ligaments are all intact which is frankly a miracle considering the type of injury I sustained. I'm pretty psyched on my progress.

Long term I might need a surgery to remove scar tissue this year and eventually need the same surgery Landy got to replace all the cartilage I lost. I literally watched a piece of my cartilage fall out of my knee when they moved me from our rescue sled to the SAR one. All that is a long ways off though. Gotta see how PT goes first.

Also, the radar doesn't look good now, but maybe it will clear up by night time? The NWS alert is pretty explicit on how dangerous it might get in the next few hours.

Glad to hear it is progressing and going well! You took a hell of a beating... so this all sounds like great progress.

It looks pretty terrible... I'm guessing my wife's Jeep ends up looking like Reed Timmer's Subaru by the end of the night.

Fires of Mt Doom
Word.

I wrote a poem, an ode to the rain.

Rain, rain, go away
Don't bother coming back, because you're a prick.
1) This is amazing
2) This must be some impressive rain to bother someone who used to live in England
3) Can we please steal your rain because that sounds better than a bad fire season

1) Merci
2) I mean this year has been weird here. It seemed to snow endlessly or like every other day until June, then the thunderstorms came and won't f*** off back to wherever they came from. It's been the wettest and snowiest I've seen Denver in years. And to be honest I just want summer to come and be hot every day for a couple of months. Precipitation can go f*** itself for a while.
3) Please take our rain. Our reservoirs and rivers are full for now. We're good.

That sounds awful. Wish we really could take the rain (without the thunderstorms). It’s a bad year when a fire that started in May is going to be left to extinguish itself in the winter while they focus on just keeping it away from the highway and houses. Would really like a summer where I can actually breathe outside for more than a couple weeks

This has been the wettest May/June for the front range since they started keeping records basically. Of course this happens during the two months I'm stuck on the front range lol.

It's been nice for temps and the foothills look like a jungle right now! Fingers crossed we don't get months of dry weather making the whole state a tinder box come september/october. Keep the moisture coming as long as it has less hail and tornadoes please.

Anybody here catch the tornado in Highlands Ranch? I just missed the whole big storm including the hail by ~20 minutes driving down.
