Life is too short to work a job you hate. Whenever I’ve gotten to a point where I hate something in my job where it causes undue stress, I know it is time to move on. Hasn’t happened often, but I’ve never regretted moving on.

It sucks because everything else about my job is great. Really not looking forward to this though. So frustrating

My last job was that way. My new boss sucked, but the job was fantastic. Sadly the boss was so bad I had to move on. I took a lot of time off and cleared my head. I couldn’t be happier now. Best decision I’ve made. Each situation is different though. Don’t force staying if you are unhappy though.

Well since I mentioned it on the injury thread and hench was like, "wait what happened?" I figured I might as well elaborate on the injury that has me buying a switch for entertainment. I have hesitated to post some of this here because my name is tied directly to the incident and I am fully doxxing myself, but f*** it, ya'll can know who I am. Many of you already had my socials back in the day.

On the 28th of April I was involved in a major avalanche accident while backcountry skiing and suffered a compounded distal femur fracture with a complete rupture of the quadricepses and patella tendons. I took a 1600' ride through some really steep terrain and basically my femur was broken into 3 pieces at the bottom and came out of my leg. It is a crazy story from there, but to make it short... my ski partners worked heroically to get me down the mountain. With the help of local SAR they were not only able to save my life, but also my leg. It took a Flight for Life heli ride, plane ride to Denver, and three surgeries but I now am in the boulder area with my family recovering and in good spirits.

The most recent development is that the story has gone kind of viral. It hit regional news first right after the accident, then we did a story with Denver7 yesterday, and today we were on Good Morning America which is just crazy. I knew this story was interesting, but I was just a guy trying to go skiing with his friends when the near worst case scenario happened. I really did not expect this to blow up like this.

Anyways, I am just so grateful to be alive and recovering. I know ya'll are not skiers but I've spent years posting here and embracing the Avs and the HF Avs community. The amount of love and support I have received from all over the place has blown me away. This place and the Avs means a lot to me. I really wish they had been able to pull out the win to give me some hockey to watch but I also feel the need for rest and recovery just like this team.

Here are a couple links if anyone is interested, but yeah... crazy.

Holy shit man! That's wild! A friend of mine was caught in an avalanche 2 years ago on his snowmobile, and he's lucky to be alive, but nothing like that. Hopefully you can milk it for all its worth! And maybe you have a new outlook on life?

Holy shit that was you?! I watched the GMA segment and it gave me chills. So glad you guys are ok!

I just came over from the Bruins board to say I hope everyone on the Avs board stays safe with the weather moving through Denver and eastern CO tonight.

Yeah, that was me. I'm just grateful to still be here and on the road to a full recovery it could have been much worse.

It's strange being on the front range right now. It snowed last night at home, but all this rain is making me feel pretty good about sitting inside all day
