I frequent the board.Literally seconds between me posting that and Risto liking it.
Then I had to wait five minutes for the next post to work.I frequent the board.
Yeah, a Switch would do great in that kind of forced rest situation. It's a much different experience from high performance gaming but it's really quite enjoyable.Well to make a very long story short... I'm non-weight bearing on my right leg for 3 months with a full recovery of 6ish months after a backcountry skiing accident eight days ago. I am looking into entertainment options to keep me busy durign all this couch and bed time. I have had a few people recommend getting a Switch which I'm leaning towards over just binging netflix and scrolling.
What's the Switch experience like? Seems like people love it. OLED vs V1? I was thinking Breath of the Wild would be a great game since I heard so much about it but am curious to hear some thoughts.

Could always get an actual games console if that's what you want to do.Well to make a very long story short... The Switch is awesome, if you just want to play fun games that are easy to hop into and play then it is a must (sort of brainless). If you want more in-depth and storyline-driven games, go with a PS4. I am pretty sure you can buy a used one from Gamestop or a local game store and get Uncharted IV as your first. The Switch does have Zelda and other really awesome story games, but PS4 just has so many more. It depends on your mood/desire, do you want more options in story games or do you want to play some brainless stuff like Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, etc.Well to make a very long story short... I think so, the Mario games that are out right now are really good + Fire Emblem make it worth it for me. Having a portable gaming system is pretty sweet, although some would prefer Steam Deck.Is it really the best time to get a Switch? You’ll play BotW and then be too burned out to play Tears of the Kingdom which is the game everyone will be talking about. Plus the hardware is aging and there has to be a successor coming next year (hopefully because switch games have trash frame rates and resolution )
Woah, another Fire Emblem fan.I think so, the Mario games that are out right now are really good + Fire Emblem make it worth it for me. Having a portable gaming system is pretty sweet, although some would prefer Steam Deck.

Has there ever been an adult who did that?If you want to regret starting a game, you can always get into LoL/DotA.
Fun games that are easy to just jump into is exaclty what I am looking for. It has been over a decade since I have really considered myself a "gamer" of any sorts. I played WoW, LoL and was into serious shooters until I was around 20 and I don't really deisre to get back into those types of games. The switch seems to have the easiest platform to just jump into while sitting on the couch for 45 minutes. Portability is super important too. I am currently at my parents house for the next 4/6 weeks but will be headed back to my mountain home for the rest of the recovery and my TV is up a flight of stairs. It is pretty unlikely that I will play through the TV more than 15-25% of the time, if I was only going to play through the TV I'd have gone with a PS4 for sure. And, when it comes down to it, once I am able to start moving around in a more normal way again this will likely just sit unused or I will sell it. Seems like the Switch holds surprising resale value. The Switch is awesome, if you just want to play fun games that are easy to hop into and play then it is a must (sort of brainless). Currently 50 pages into Finders Keepers by Craig Childs, I doubt anyone here like Craig Childs like I do but this is one of his best.
