 Maybe it's easier if it's not intercontinental, because shitty places do just fine here.

And I mean really actually shitty places.
It probably has to do some with differences in European vs US culture and tastes. Some to do with Wyoming's population. Some to do with the cultural aspects of Wyoming in general. You can find some good wines, but you're having to search through a sea of 1500 shitty brands to find 10 good ones. The good ones you find tend to be $50+ a bottle (with about a million added on). Hard to find a good $25 bottle of wine here.

Now whiskey/whisky... you can find the good shit of that everywhere here. Even the rarest Japanese varieties. Also can tend to find really good tequila.

Corona sucks... most mass market beers like them suck. Modelo/Jalisco are probably the two best mass market Mexican lagers. Bohemia is my favorite Mexican lager, but it is more of a bock than a pils.

Famosa is a super underrated beer out of Guatemala.
Just spent 3 weeks in Baja drinking a shit ton of Mexican beer on the beach so I feel like I should chime in here.

My tier list is:

Victoria
Pacifico
Modelo Negra/Modelo Especial - inter-changeable depending on the situation
Bohemia
Tecate
Corona

Yeah. That makes sense. You can definitely find several decent wines of every kind in the $15-20 range here. Less so for any kind of variety in liquors.

I really enjoy Victoria... can't get behind Pacifico. Tecate is about as trash as Corona.

Pacifico tastes different down south for some reason. Maybe it's the fresher limes or that it's just fresher in general that but it tastes better south of the border. Espicially with a shot of tequilla filling the neck and a lime. Yum.

Tecate is trash but it's a better trash than corona for sure. I used to drink Tecate up here in the states a lot but I think I'll skip it now, just can't look back from paying $30 pesos a can at the local taco joint to buying it at $25+ a 12 pack here in the states.

Wine - I’m no expert but Naked wines does a good job if you are looking for a club

Beer - I usually have an IPA in the fridge, but lately I’m going seasonal. Tried all of the pumpkin / Octoberfests, now I’m on to Christmas holiday beers.

Hazy does not equal Juicy.

Hazy IPAs are good. Juicy IPAs are usually not great and are just sweet....

They stem from the same family (NEIPA) and are frequently interchangeable terms.

Somewhere along the way hazy became the thing to go for instead of just a derivative of the process. I'm old enough to remember that Heady Topper asked people to drink it in cans so people didn't critique the clarity of the beer as the process to get the flavor caused a permanent haze. That haze became synonymous with the style and people targeted the look as much as the flavor (since the looks drew people in).

True!

Sorry I should have said that I don't think Hazy should equal Juicy. To me, a lot of breweries are adding actual tropical juice and sugar to their IPAs and not just adding hops after the boil, like a true NEIPA.

I like west coast IPAs the best, then Hazys second. Juicy are ok for the most part but some are just sodas they can be so sweet.

Yeah a number of places are fruiting and then adding a bunch of unfermentable sweeteners. I can't get behind those either. I'm not one for super sugary drinks though... and I think most Americans enjoy a ton of sugar, which is why those sell.

I truly enjoy a lot of different types of hoppy beers from pilsners to NEIPAs, but when they get sweet I start checking out. Same is true for stouts. I can't stand the whole pastry stout style simply because it tastes like I'm drinking nothing but sugar with an alcoholic burn.
Heady Topper is one hell of a beer

Yup... each time I have it, I'm always blown away by just how good it really is. Same thing for whenever I have Blind Pig or Pliny the Elder from Russian River. They all might not be the hot new thing... but oh my are they just so F good.

I bought a 4 pack of my favorite Porter last week. Odell Cutthroat Porter. They only make small batches of it these days so I was pumped to see it.
I lover Porters. The vanilla porter from Breckenridge brewery is one of my favorite beers. One year I went to beer fest at fiddlers green and tried a cherry porter. It was heaven. I wrote down the name, but I think I was too drunk by then, because I could never find the beer or brewery. I wrote down "National scouting report, cherry porter" I've scoured the internet in search for it, but alas it has become my white whale.

Pacifico is just a superior Corona that you can find anywhere. Such a drinkable pilsner

I drank the Vanilla Porter at Breckenridge Brewery Ale house in Grand Junction all the time in college. That was before Breckenridge brewery sold to Anheuser-Busch.

I was at a concert and paid like $15-$20 for a can of Heady Topper out in the parking lot. Although I wouldn’t pay that again it was worth every penny. It was sooo good.

I used to trade beers in the mail, lol, so I have had a bunch of good beers from all over the country. Vermont and that area really put out some good beers…Hill Farmstead is another great brewery up there and there’s a really good one in Boston I can’t remember the name of at the moment.

Blind Pig is really good too. I don’t think I have ever had either of the Pliny’s but I’ve had some sours from Russian River that were top notch. I wish I lived in California sometimes just so I could get fresh Pliny shipped to my door.

Do they still have Crooked Stave out in Denver? They have some good sours, too.

Hill Farmstead has some incredible beers (Vermont in general just kills). Treehouse is probably the other you’re thinking of. Maine Brewing is also great in New England.

Crooked Stave is still around. They’ve branched out to ipas, stouts and pilsners too. All very solid.

If you could stand some in the mail, DM me. Have a buddy that lives in Santa Rosa (and went to school at App) that hooks me up from time to time. I could probably have him send some your way too. Russian River there is just another place… that has kick ass pizza and wings.

You sir, are on point. Pliny the Elder is an awesome IPA. I haven't met anyone outside of California who knows about the Russian River Brewery.

Have you tried Pliny the Younger? If you like lots of hops, that's one to try. Go slowly though.

Unknowingly, I went out there in March when they were having the release of Younger. Pure coincidence, but had a few on draft and got some bottles to go. Needless to say, I got pretty trashed the day I had it on draft.
