When do tickets go on sale?

I really want to catch the home opener because Jagr is on Dallas.

TIA

You have a better chance of winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning on the day you are supposed to collect than getting tickets for the opener through the public onsale.

Not sure where to post this,

Today is the 34th Anniversary of the Waldbaums fire in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Aug 2, 1978
6 Firemen lost their lives that day when the roof of the bulding collapsed. It was the biggest loss in FDNY prior to 9/11.

My uncle was one of those firemen. Some of you on this board may be old enough to remember this fire. Just wanted to share the reminder.

I wasn't born yet when it happened, but I used to live in Sheepshead Bay, and I still pass by Firemen's Corner all the time.

RIP.

Tourism question here!
A friend of mine (female, about 20 y/o) would like to visit NY this year and is currently looking for apartments - she already found one in Brooklyn, around Ditmas Park. Does anyone of you guys know, whether it is a safe area or not? Keep in mind that she's traveling alone (yeah, I'm a bit worried :scared:).
Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow Rangers fans, i'm going to a concert at Governors Island on August 12th, and need some help. I live on LI and plan on taking:

Ronkonkoma to Penn Station,
then take the Subway 1 train to Manhattan's South Ferry, then the Governors Island Ferry to Governors Island.

Any intricate details you guys can fill me in on? I've never taken the ferry nor the subway. Any quicker/easier ways? Thanks a ton if you guys answer.

Perfect. The 1 is easily accessible from Penn Station.

I remember it very well. Brought up in Sheepshead Bay. It's a Staples now and there's only a small plaque on the building. About 4 or 5 years ago, I was waiting at a traffic light on the other side of the block when a lunatic came screaming through a red light at 60 or 70 miles an hour and killed a woman. I forget exactly what day it was but it was the beginning of August. I now refer to Ocean Ave between X & Y as the death block. Pretty horrible.

Rangers Hotels

Does anyone know which hotels the Rangers stay at when they visit other cities?

When I visited Pittsburgh to watch the Mets play the Pirates, we stayed at the same hotel at the Mets and it was really awesome seeing the players close up and just hanging out.

I'm particularly interested in the hotels they stay at in Philly and Carolina!

hmmmm someone by the name of Swedish Mafia is looking for a way to locate player on the Rangers, looks like someone on the blueshirts owes somebody money :sarcasm:

There's more than a plaque. There's an American Flag on the corner and the streetsign says "Firemens' Corner".

As far as I know, it depends on the home team, meaning there are set hotels. At least it's like that in Buffalo

Alright. I'm sure they put them up in nice places. I was think that they would stay at the Ritz-Carlton near the town hall in Philly.

Maybe I'll pose a question to another team's board asking were the post up away teams. Hope I don't get executed. :help:

If it were up to the flyers they'd put them in a crack house in Camden. I think they can stay wherever they want to. It's not like they're going to Bangladesh.

I'll be going to see the Dolphins @ Jets game in October in Jersey. I was wondering if anyone here can point me in the direction of some decent hotels in the area? Whether in NY or NJ, as long as it's not too expensive, and isn't a dump...

Not sure if I should ask here or on the Devils' board, but figured this will be the first place I ask.
